@T4920 I understand your point, but I would be groaning way more if I ruined my jacket by washing it too aggressively. We use some logic when determining how to shrink-test things, and that is how we would recommend washing it to a customer. In this case, I would not be recommending spinning the jacket. It's one of the crunchiest denim we make, in my opinion, which makes it one of the more prone to damage. I also don't think that we should start ruining clothes in the name of science by trying to maximise shrinkage with higher temps or faster spins.

Sage advice and a few things to add:

      1. Denim and care are a personal thing and many tend to do things differently. Sometimes there are successes and sometimes there are failures.
      2. Can you deal with the failures that may occur when the recommended care guidelines are not followed? Premature wear, holes, streaking, marbling, etc.
      3. Can you afford to write the item off or get a new one if the item is damaged?
      4. Is the item available to repurchase?

I have seen on more than one occasion where members are deeply disappointed in their denim after a wash, and almost every time was due to care guidelines not being followed. @AdamJ can give you an example of his jeans that marbled after a wash. He stated that the reason behind the marbling was not following the recommended care.

Others may chime in, but my point is: The recommended guidelines have been followed by many and some of the greatest examples of fades have been by the ones who have followed them. Just my $.02.

@goosehd definitely the best and to the point manner in which to deliver these care guidelines.

I done many ways of trying and seeing what happens.

You get it right in the end.
That’s only way to learn maybe.

What I learn don’t use the tumble dryer, or spin.

          Always soak 🛁 before washing.

I know many says I have use the tumble dryer, use at your own risk ⚠️ nothing happens, I did but didn’t like the way the cotton changed or looks. First time and last time. Sold them off.

You own it. Do what you like.

The guidelines are there for a reason.
          Follow it or don’t.

Mine is currently drying. Did a hot soak followed by a 60C wash, no spin. I'll add some measurements when it's dry (which could take a while).

Very happy with how it turned out after the hot soak and 60C wash. Fit is on point and I'm at least warming to the concept of these modified, slightly longer denim jackets (now that it's shortened 😁).

              Length: 27,9 - 26,9
              Sleeve: 27,5 - 26,5
              Shoulders: 19,9 - 19,3
              P2P: 23,2 - 22,5

This is an XL/42, and post wash measurements seem to be quite close the OD version.

What a great jacket. And this denim is so good. Tight and crispy. The only two problems are that now I want to try some jeans in this denim, and the OD version of the jacket is looking very tempting.

@ junkpants. The od version of this jacket is easier to deal with. Softens up faster. Its a gorgeous jacket. And getting pants in this denim is a no brainer.

@JunkPants the jeans are not as stiff and crunchy as the jacket. The fabric is very comfortable and less stiff than a 25oz for example. Good evening everyone 😀

@yannis I agree, I've only had the 526LOD for a few days, I've only worn it twice because of the heat, but it's really comfortable and easy to wear. The indigo 526L is in armor, after 4/5 months of discontinuous use it still stands on its own 😀, I love it 😀. The jeans, I have a pair of 666 19oz Lefty indigos and they too like the OD are very comfortable and easy to break, much less demanding than a 25oz.

@Kasi yes I think this is exactly the reason, stiff like the jacket would be really difficult to wear 😀

@yannis I'm sure it's much softer. I have a few OD items and the feel is certainly unique, and a large part of the charm. That said, I love the crisp feeling of the 526L. In general the crisper/tougher the denim the more I seem to like it. Let's see, maybe I'll do like @Daniel-San and get the OD as well. (It's starting to get fairly crowded with jackets here though).

And I seem to remember your posts in one of the 19L jeans threads @yannis speaking highly of it! Hopefully it will be restocked in the 777 or 555 in the near future. XHS has been my clear favourite so far.

@Luijim78 Have to admit, I was hoping the jeans would have some of that rigidity and stiffness! Love XHS, and found them quite comfortable right away.

Over time the 25oz becomes softer than the 19L. The 19L remains crunchier and even when it softens up its a different kind of soft. More leathery instead of thick sweatpants
