      Thx guys for your thoughts.

I think anyway that a "L" would make me loose the "type3/trucker" look which I think is good here, only to have more confort.
I already have a looser IH-101J-SR to accommodate tick shirts and thicker pulls, and I think it's vain to want one piece that would fit all styles 🙂

Will wait a bit for eventual other members pics of their piece (I know dirtyframer bought one ;-)) to remove the tags, but I think I'll keep it.

One thing I'll mention though for future buyers is the fact that I don't think anyone could close the sleeves buttons and take off the jacket. I have to unbutton them before taking the jacket off.
This fits well the "motorcycle" motto I suppose, since it sits really tight at the wrist,. I don't mind unbuttoning, since you need to do the rest of the buttons already anyway 😃
Also, when closed and tight, you don't see the "excess" length in sleeves + since the sleeves have some crawled up fabric, it eases the movement around the elbow imo.

@Slash I unfortunately did not buy the split steer, have the Savannah jacket arriving. Imnton on the split steer vs the horeshide sueded type 3 and playing a waiting game to see if the sheep comes back.

But I do agree with the others that the fit you have looks sharp! Definitely wouldnt change it.

@dirtyframer Haha ok cool ! The Savannah looks also gorgeous and the brown color of it is also very much to my liking.

Keen to see your pictures of it 😉

@ShopatIronHeart : Not sure if important since the stock is quasi gone, but the measurements on the product page and in the thread are not the same.
Edit: Its only for the brown one

Just wondering on the sizing. Is the large a size 40?
                Thanks!

Thinking of trading up from a medium to a large after realizing my original "spring/fall over a t-shirt" wear plan would have me suffering heatstroke and layering under it for colder weather would make it a bit too tight. This is definitely a winter jacket for me, but I tend to run on the hot side.

However, I'm curious if the measurements have changed at all with the latest restock. Is today's large the same as the large from 3-4 years ago?

@wordfool It looks like the sizing chart has been updated fairly recently (July 2026). You will need to measure your jacket and compare them to the size chart found on the first page to know for sure.

Use this guide to measure your jacket to compare to the current measurements chart: https://ironheart.co.uk/pages/how-we-measure-jackets

@goosehd Thanks, good to know the initial chart is updated.

Another quick question you may or may not know the answer to -- how much size variance does there tend to be with IH leather jackets? Is it the usual 0.5"-ish quoted for other types of garment?
