Not sure if destiny was telling me not to buy this, because my browser suddenly decided to revoke all cookies and to quit on me 3 times in a row, but anyway, I insisted

Ordered an M, and asked for 1 with a smaller P2P if one exists. There were only 3 M's at launch, and thx for Firefox I was not the first order through apparently.
Crossing fingers :
I wont"t say I have never been excited for an item I bought, but here I really am

@ShopatIronHeart @goosehd @Mizmazzle
I ping you too guys goosehd/Mizmazzle since I know from the thread you have had the jacket for a few years, I hope I don't bother

I have trouble evaluating if the jacket is, lets say fitted, or on the borderline of small, because it's so heavy
I intend to wear this mostly with t-shirts + sweatshirts (first 2 pics) but probably sometimes with shirts too. What do you all think of the fit ? Will the jacket loosen over time ? For now it feels a bit like something I carry more than I wear

Shoulders are good and I can cross arms without restriction nor back tension, but it feels...well...heavy.
If it was denim, I would deem the fit near perfect for me, like a type3 should fit imo, but I'm all ears guys.
What do you think of the length ? It came a few mm shorter than advertised but not much. There aren't any "L" anyway that I could buy to compare, but I feel like it would be too big anyway (only length would be better imo)
Last pic is closed with the last season's slubby, and that feels a bit tight.
Sorry for all the pictures

with shirts:

@Slash no bother at all and glad to offer advice. I think the overall fit is very good and I would not size up as the shoulders and sleeves look spot on. Layered over the button up shirts and I say that the chest is perfect, over the t-shirt and it’s a little large, but not overly so.
As to loosening up, it will shape to you with time and wear. It will not stretch, but more shape to your body.
From my perspective, it’s a keeper, but you ultimately need to be comfortable. If you’re not, you will not wear it in the long run.
What do you think?
-
@Slash @goosehd Totally agree with all points mentioned, certainly looks like a keeper. Objectively the jacket appears to fit as well as one can hope, but as mentioned, you want to be comfortable which only you will be able to definitively know, but fit looks great layered over just a tee or a shirt!
-
Thx guys for your thoughts.
I think anyway that a "L" would make me loose the "type3/trucker" look which I think is good here, only to have more confort.
I already have a looser IH-101J-SR to accommodate tick shirts and thicker pulls, and I think it's vain to want one piece that would fit all styles
Will wait a bit for eventual other members pics of their piece (I know dirtyframer bought one ;-)) to remove the tags, but I think I'll keep it.
One thing I'll mention though for future buyers is the fact that I don't think anyone could close the sleeves buttons and take off the jacket. I have to unbutton them before taking the jacket off.
This fits well the "motorcycle" motto I suppose, since it sits really tight at the wrist,. I don't mind unbuttoning, since you need to do the rest of the buttons already anyway
Also, when closed and tight, you don't see the "excess" length in sleeves + since the sleeves have some crawled up fabric, it eases the movement around the elbow imo. -
@Slash I unfortunately did not buy the split steer, have the Savannah jacket arriving. Imnton on the split steer vs the horeshide sueded type 3 and playing a waiting game to see if the sheep comes back.
But I do agree with the others that the fit you have looks sharp! Definitely wouldnt change it.
-
@dirtyframer Haha ok cool ! The Savannah looks also gorgeous and the brown color of it is also very much to my liking.
Keen to see your pictures of it
