IH-777N - 17oz Selvedge Denim Super-Slim Tapered Cut Jeans - Natural Indigo

I'm thinking about getting a pair of these for my fiancé. I showed her an assortment of the cuts/fabrics I have to get an idea of what she would like. She thought the 21oz and 18oz were too heavy, but she did like the 14oz. It's not looking like any of the current 14oz models will suit her measurements though so this seems like the best option. I don't have any experience with this fabric, does it tend to feel "lighter weight" or is it still quite burly?

It feels quite thin and light compared to the different 18oz denims. It is the lightest IH denim I’ve had, but I you gave me a pair of 18oz vintage and a pair of these I’d guess there was a lot more than an ounce per yard in difference.

I'm thinking that this may be my next pair (this 17oz fabric that is) but I'm debating between the 777 cut and the 301 SelfEdge cut.  I've noticed several comments regarding the hue on these and I'm curious if anyone who owns these ( @neph93 )  can give a bit more insight on that.  Is it a lighter, more vibrant Indigo hue than say the 21oz fabric?

Also, I feel like this is a highly underrated IH fabric.

You're absolutely right that it is underrated.It is quite tightly woven with a very smooth flat hand initially. That comes to life with wear though and it gets a little neppy and coarse and and starts to develop character. The indigo hue is more vibrant perhaps but I wouldn't say lighter in colour, like the UHR. It appears to be heavily saturated with indigo. The wear when it starts to happen it great. If this was done in a cut that works for me I'd buy it again for sure.

Possibly not ever. They are not listed as being in continuous production so if the denim is all gone I can’t see another batch being made. @Giles  will be able to confirm but he is in the air for the next few hours, on his way to Japan.

Whoops.  That is a screw up, email alerts have now been enabled.  A restock is due in the UK within the next 2 weeks.  I have left it as seasonal or limited for the moment as I am not sure if we have any more denim.  @Alex ?

What do people think about the feel of this denim vs the 21-oz in the 777-21? Similar softness, breatheability, etc? I have a pair of 21-oz (IHxB01)and 18-oz (633SII), but no experience with this 17-oz.

Probably slightly less breathable…Fades really great given time.

Very different denim. The 17oz is crisper, tighter, slightly textured too. As G says, the fades are ace.

These look so good to me and I don't know why this fabric seems to fly under the radar.  I'm glad to see a restock on these and I still plan on picking up a pair in the future.

I'm really liking my 777S-21 jeans. At this point, they're my favorite jeans ever. The fit, the texture, the color. I'm thinking I'd like another 777 cut.

Question for those familiar with both materials: Would this 17oz material be a good contrast to the 21oz? Is it dramatically different? How about stretch - similar?
