          Thanks @Dmart . Yes as @neph93 and @Giles stated this is their standard heel.

          I remember when Wesco released the 100th anniversary work boot 8106 and my thinking, at the time, was ‘who would wear a heel on a boot that high?!?!’  Couple years later and I don’t think I’d consider a lower heel or taking a lower lift on a Wesco. It’s kinda like my evolution with IH denim. Didn’t like the 634 cut initially and thought the 555 was for me. Now I mainly prefer wider cuts.

          @neph93:

          @Dmart:

          I'd this the regular heel height?

          Looks like it.

          Grand pair of boots @Kirk I love the look of single midsoles on the #705. The double the sole at the front but have that beautiful curve into the heel block. I have it on my custom burlap Boss and it is elegant and badass at the same time.

          I thought the single midsole with 705 on the Hendrik was perfect and a nice profile for this type of boot.

          Thanks @Appfaff. I was going for a clean, classic look. The Hendrik is already a great boot.

            We must have had similar thought at similar times.. I'm about 4-6 weeks out from receiving my next build, and it also  is on a 705, however, I tried something sacrilegious… Double Mids with 2 heel lifts lower... Hoping for something with a Chunky profile, yet not super heeled, as I don't need much more help feeling like a giant..

              Sacrilegious…nah. Unique and your own... for sure. Can’t wait to see how you get on with your new build. What type of boot did you got with? I’m 6’1 and the mrs makes the occasional comment that I’m wearing stilts. I like the look of double mids on engineer/boss boots. I have the ihwe-5 and ihwe-po. Both double mids and dig the aesthetic.

                I was actually mistaken… I went with 700s this time - I usually always order 705s haha.

                I did a burlap roughout LTT jobmaster with smooth tongues and the custom mid sole ratio.. Interested to see how it turns out as I have never had a JObmaster before, and my only experience with the 700s is on my IH Engineers.

                  I sent back my Horsehide Wesco MP toe boss back to Wesco to get black triple stitching, longer instep strap and a 430 vibram resole.  Widened to e width too.

                  I’ll see them in 5 weeks.

                    Got my exchanged pair of 12E nat CXL Mr Lous today and they fit great. Definitely a bit snugger than the 13s in the instep area, a little harder to put on but absolutely nowhere near Lofgren difficulty. Of course this is right out of the box, so I feel like I can expect a little bit of eventual stretch in that area. The real plus is that the length is better, less heel slip, and although they still look like skis on my big ass feet, they’re 1/3” shorter skis 😃

                      and one thing about CXL, is you can almost always expect stretch.

                        Been seeing this insole being sold on Rakuten through retailers that sell White’s and Wesco so I bought them through Bakers Boots.I placed these into my Wesco Boss and they make my boots feel like sneakers with how comfy they are now.

                            On a recent Ship John IG Live,Chris from Wesco,mentioned putting Spence insoles into Wesco for additional comfort. I ended up buying a set for some running shoes,and they’re so much better than the stock insoles.

                              On the subject of insoles/leather inserts…

                              Do you wear your wesco boots with the leather inserts they provide? What purpose do they serve? Comfort? Accommodate with the fit?

                              I ask because I have IHWE-PO, IHWE-JOU, 1939 Engineer boot in 9.5D. My Hendriks are 9.5E to account for the MP last.  These boots fit great WITHOUT the insert but I doubt I could wear them with the insert as they would be too tight. My IHWE-5 are a 10E and they don’t fit particularly well with the insert and are pretty roomy without.

                              Curious to hear your feedback and what the consensus is. Thanks

                                I'm actually pretty curious about this, too.

                                Weirdly, my new 12E Lous fit a lot differently today, and the only reason I can come up with is that I ate a frozen pizza for dinner last night. I know salt can make you swell a bit, so maybe not an outlandish theory? I generally eat pretty healthily, so we'll see if it goes away.

                                BUT, back to the topic at hand — I felt mine also fit a little better today sans insoles. Is there any reason to not wear em, as in can it bad for your boots? Seems like it wouldn't, but who knows…

                                    I’ve slip ons only from Wesco.

                                    10.5D on the MP toe with their heaviest leather = no insole the first year. They stretched enough to put it back in.

                                    10.5D MP toe with the brown domain = always used the insole

                                    10.5E Boss toe (x2) with the heavy leather, roomy and comfortable without being too big = insole in

                                    10.5D Morrison toe (light olive burlap) = always insoles

                                    10.5E MP toe, burlap = always insoles.

                                    The point being a change on width obviously makes a difference, but different leathers will also affect fit and comfort.

                                    As for the point of insoles, they mitigate the accumulation of odour and wear in the sole of the boot over time. In other words unless you don’t wash or socks, you’ll be fine without them for long periods and depending on type of wear indefinitely.
