IH-777S-21 - 21oz Selvedge Denim Slim Tapered Jeans - Indigo
-
Loving the new sizing on these. Near spot on. Only thing I would wish for in future releases for jeans is a longer leg. 37”. I am 33” inside leg but can only cuff these with a small single cuff and same with my 666 pair.
-
My first IH from early 2021. Many washes. Crotch repair from IH. Not worn for work and in rotation with others
-
Just love the 21oz denim - cut wise these 777 now feel quite tight after spending more time in 634.
-
@Alexander I feel the same way after wearing 634s for a while
-
@Alexander beautiful.. I’m about three weeks in with my first pair of 21oz indigo, loving it so far

Question for the vets out there. I have a pair of IH-777S-21 and also a pair of IH-777S-21od both newish and in tag 35. Would a hot soak of the former result in it shrinking to roughly the same size as the latter? I would like this to be true but don't want to overshoot the mark.
Thanks! -
@Evertonman Sorry, but it will not. The 21oz has been sanforized and one washed with little to no shrinkage. Any shrinkage you may get will be temporary.
-
@Evertonman I am not a vet, still raw & unwashed ))) So, it's going to be a rookie advice ))
I would assume that probably yes, a hot soak can potentially get it shrunk a bit. Not crazy like a couple of inches, but considerably.
Last time after I gave them a tub wash in a "very warm" water (not hot), they sat on me quite tighter, on butt and thighs.
Yes, they stretched out then a bit, but still quite tighter than used to do even after multiple wears. Though I am a skinny guy, so works for me.
You can try to give them a hot soak for an hour and see how far shrinkage can go -
Thanks guys! I was assuming the denim in the IH-777S-21od was also sanforized prior to the OD process. I was just thinking a soak or wash of my regular indigo pair would roughly replicate the OD process etc. The regular indigo pair fits pretty well but I was just looking to tighten them up bit. All good!

Just got a new pair. The overlock on the inner part of button fly is kind of loose along with the selvedge line.
Is this a defect?
Has anyone else had this?I am not concerned about esthetics.
Just don't want that part to go off after a couple of machine washes.

QUESTION to the old wolves from a rookie raw and unwashed.
I happened to keep my 777s-21 soaked in cold water for 3 hours. Had to work and forgot about it.
When came back, the water was quite dark (dirt or indigo or both). So I decided to agitate it and get it all out.- The inseam was 33+ inches. I am a stack guy and had several stack creases bunched up. After air dry the length went to 32.3 and just a couple of stack creases. I could feel it became shorter by almost 2/3 inch right away.
- The fabric throughout the entire pair became kind of denser and thicker. Stacks are sort of bunched up and stay that way themselves.
- Still OK, no problem. It's just not stacking up like it used to do. I even like the way it started fading now.
Just curious, if it might be due to prolonged stay in the water (though cold) or agitation? Maybe both?
