Definitely sucks. This fabric is thin, and these things happen. I caught my upper arm on a fence and put a small tear in my red 80, near the shoulder. Nothing a little thread couldn't fix, though.

I understand your frustration, and the seller should have alerted you beforehand and paid for the repair; but it's a quick fix, and remember this is work wear. Tears just add character. You will still love the shirt. Trust me.

So first weekend off in over two months, and I decide to go to the beach.

I moved to a different area for the rest of the year, so I've never even been to this beach before. In my first 60 seconds at the new beach, I step on a stingray. Blood, swelling, searing pain. I had to walk about 2 miles home to get to some hot water to soak my foot.

Never thought I would say this, but I should have just gone to work today. Haha.

            Thanks, man.

That was a real tragedy with Steve Irwin. He was in so many more dangerous situations, and always walked away unscathed. Stingray stings are painful, but fatalities are extremely rare and usually occur if you're stung in the chest (had no choice but to do some reading on the subject today).

"seano 'harder than Steve Irwin' cono" :). I had a mate get stung a few years ago, caused him weeks of pain. Seem to recall he walked it off (similar), but had issues with it 2-3 weeks later. He ended up visiting a GP and getting 'stuff' done.

The same thing happened to my buddy who stepped on one while surfing.  It was swollen, red, and angry for weeks, and then he had to go get it…drained...shudder...

I hope you're feeling okay, Sean!

Thank you! I am feeling good. Foot/leg is swollen and red, but the pain is mostly gone.

I made a quick stop at the doctor's because I have some previous health issues that I wanted to make sure didn't come into play. They gave me some antibiotics, so hopefully I can avoid an infection. Draining sounds terrible.

😞 😠 just got an idea of what my latest round of medical procedures will cost out of pocket. Even with insurance covering 85% it's gonna get steep. Looks like my budget will be thoroughly screwed for a bit 😠 😠

Thanks bros. I ranted on here somewhere about it, but long story short, multiple levels in my back are shot, fixing it isn't an option now, so I have to have a series of nerve blocks and potentially a spinal cord stim implant. Was just getting settled with the idea when the price of what it will cost kicked me in the balls.

To anyone interested, I got my boots back from Danner last friday. I did have to pay for the repair in the end. Today I received a package from them that included 3 pairs of nice merino wool socks, a nice waxed canvas hat, some waterproofing spray and a stainless steel water bottle. Pretty much covered the cost of the repairs and was a really nice gesture on their part. On top of that, the boots are fantastic too.

They also stole a 4 year old iPod but left behind £12,000 worth of new marine electronics! Thank feck the Gosport low life don't know S###.
