I think people often conflate politics (which I steer clear of on here) with human rights (like the bodily autonomy @sabergirl mentions above) which none of us should avoid discussing - they came for the (insert group here) and I did nothing.
It looks like Sir Cuffs a Lot has bowed out of the forum, which is a damn shame.

@RocknRoll I can't say it bugs me at all. There was a brand that did this on most of their jeans but I'm struggling to remember who they are. Was it Evisu?

The two are inextricably linked. And our forum is not the place to discuss either of them.
-
This forum is exactly the kind of place where I don't get labeled just for being Russian.
-
@RocknRoll In with this 100%, my eye can't handle it
-
@NickD Hiut have two of the belt loops on the hips angled,
-
@Giles I can't see that I was being dogmatic.
To clarify my point then, in my opinion the two things are separate (linked, yes, but not inextricably) but to Endo's point I'll avoid either here.
-
@Cymro I did have some Huit jeans so that's probably where I'm remembering it from.

My point was not directed at you at all.
My post was a more general-to-everyone-if-it-applies-to-you, quit the dogma.

One of the things that really drew me to this forum in recent years was the lack of political discussion and the fact that most of us could just come here and talk about the things we actually have in common.
I do notice, though, that little political or ideological jabs still get thrown out from time to time from all sides, and that almost always invites somebody else to respond with their own opinion. Even if you stay out of it, it can still be annoying to read through.
I know it is hard to avoid completely, and I would suspect there are some members for whom this is really their only forum or social media presence, so getting into those things here and there probably just feels natural. But there are plenty of other places for political debate and personal opinions. This place is better when it is one of the few places we do not have to.

I am pretty sure my Stevensons have angled loops at the back and it can be a pain to get my belt through them. The look doesnt bother me as much as the extra trouble.
I’d have to go back and look, but I’m pretty sure that my first pair of IronHeart’s the DC 4001 had an offset loop for comfort.
-
@northsouthdenimguy I get that it's probably better to avoid politics/religion/ beliefs entirely, otherwise there will be responses (like mine, mea culpa) that react to that.
-
I do apologize for airing personal opinions on my influences if it bothered anyone. My thing was just more to do with media consumption and what I direct my attention bandwidth toward. Similar to musical selection or film tastes. We all like what we like.
I can take a jab. I do like that we can all talk about our interests here without judgement. I don't really participate in any other social media besides this, and I wouldn't want to treat anyone here any different than I would in person. And my opinion on crooked belt loops is that they look bad, but make sense if you want to reduce thick overlaps of fabric that can be a hot spot on the back of a motorcycle if your seat has contact there.
