Random Rants

In the Caribbean, I had basic wifi access which is great to check in to the forum to see what’s happening from time to time. It also allowed me to post the occasional picture although it seemed to take forever.
The biggest issue that I kept running into is pages with a lot of picture content and then posts that quoted those pictures. Please be mindful that all of the world doesn’t have speedy wifi and that quoting a post with lots of pictures may actually make the forum extremely slow or unusable for some. It may take me weeks to catch up on everything that I’ve missed if I ever do.
There are two button’s that you can use in response to someone’s post:
A “reply” button which autolinks to that post that you’re replying to, and a “quote” button which quotes their text including pictures. It’s better when you use the “reply” button for everyone especially when you consider slow internet speeds.

Hey, I just want to say I really appreciate the IH peeps, the moderators, and the overall community and mutual respect here. Everyone wears things differently and likes different stuff, and that’s part of what makes it good.
I spent half my day bored going back and forth with someone on Reddit, not even on a watch sub, and they were telling me I’m wearing mine wrong, which is just silly. I know some people wear them higher, that’s fine. I really don’t care how anyone wears their stuff. If you want to strap your watch around your neck like a choker, go for it. I couldn’t care less.
That’s what’s so refreshing about coming here. You don’t open the page and see a bunch of people talking crap about what you posted.
Thanks!

Edit: Rant/Anti-rant

I FUCKING hate it when people tell you how to wear something. It has fuck all to do with them. What level of arrogance must they have to believe how they wear something is better than how you choose to? All that matters is that you feel comfortable in yourself and in your peer group. End of.
-
Exactly. Wear something in a way that makes you comfortable. I wear some watches higher on my wrist, some lower. It depends on the watch.

@Giles ok I'll ask: what was the unsolicited instruction that inspired the rant? People love giving advice, no more so than when they are exceedingly unqualified.

@StarsSuck it was @northsouthdenimguy experience on Reddit
One post above his.

@goosehd ah. Reddit explains it.
-
@NickD some people like their watches baggy like their pants, dowhatchalike...

not to beat a dead horse, but I will anyway. Another thing people don’t always understand is that everyone’s anatomy is different. My ulnar styloid doesn’t really protrude at all, so I actually wear my watch right on top of it rather than above it. With a larger watch, it probably looks like it’s sitting way down on my wrist below the bone, but it’s not. I can see why people wear it above if they have a noticeable protruding bone as it’s probably uncomfortable to be on it or even below it

@northsouthdenimguy I had to google "ulnar styloid" to make sure it was what i thought it was, and it was - the most uncomfortable part of watch wearing for me. Must be nice! Enjoy your non-protrusive wrist bone. lol. I'm one of the ones who keeps my watch high and tight on a nato strap to avoid contact.
