I tend to try a lot of different items within the brands I love, whether it is clothing or boots. Because of that, I end up with quite a few pieces that are very lightly worn and eventually go up for sale.
When I price something, I ask myself what I would realistically pay for it secondhand if I really wanted it. I use that as my starting point, and if there is no movement, I gradually mark it down from there.
That being said, I do see some pretty insane asking prices out there, especially in the boot world with brands like Clinch and Role Club.

@Walery-Smirnoff I can't imagine. I've visited Iceland in the winter and that was confusing enough to my biology.

Yesterday I wanted to buy a Western Flat Head shirt. And the devil possessed me to tell my wife about it. She gave me a big bang. She said it was too expensive and she had other things to do right now. Fuck. The thing is, it's the only new Japanese XXL shirt you can buy in a store in Russia. I'm depressed again.

The iOS update and getting to all tabs in safari now taking three clicks instead of one

-
@68degreesorless yep and it was just starting to work again prior to that update. Apple is really losing site of what made them standout.
Also hate where they put the camera button on the new phones. Every time I pull it out of my back pocket, it’s the first thing I touch which turns the camera on. In my opinion, very poor design.
-
@68degreesorless would changing the Safari tabs setting from compact to bottom help?
-
Yeah you can switch it back to the old setting and get the little tabs icon back to where it was. Just do a search for something like “how do I get my tabs back to the way they used to be in iOS26” and it should show up. It drove me f’n insane too.
-
go to Settings > Apps > Safari, scroll to the Tabs section, and select either Bottom or Top instead of "Compact"
@ARNC knows!
-
@ARNC Udaman thanks for the tip. So rare we have rants that are actually solvable in this thread.
-
@68degreesorless I think I went through the same process when I got hit by the “helpful” update. I’m sure we’ll both be able to find something else to rant about soon!
-
OK, I’m thinking it’s time to start changing what I do every day. This morning I went to get coffee a little later than normal, and the first thing they said was, “You’re late. Where’d you go? Waffle House for breakfast?” Yep, that’s where I was.
Then I just walked into Whole Foods about an hour and a half later than I normally do, and the security officer at the front door told me I was late.

It would not be hard to kidnap me. The plan would take all of five minutes to put together.

@northsouthdenimguy Now I'm hooked. What's the rest of your day look like with these stops built in? This was a cliffhanger!

-
Honestly, my days are pretty fun. I’m a general contractor and residential custom home builder, so every day is different. I’m constantly meeting with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, designers, architects, and owners. I’m rarely just sitting in my office for long periods. Sometimes I’ll spend three or four hours working on a budget, but I get bored so I go handle something in the field, and then come back to it.
School was never really for me. I can’t sit still. This career and business path fits me perfectly.
And I usually throw in a stop at Guilty Party once a month, sometimes more. I’ll spend a couple hours there getting the scoop and catching up. And I’ve been known to buy a thing or two when I stop in.
-
@northsouthdenimguy awesome. I love hearing how other people fill their days. Mine are remarkably uneventful as a college professor, punctuated by rare and powerful moments that knock my socks off, in good and bad ways. The things young people face... Sure they're not getting drafted for war, and yeah they create some of their own problems, but regardless it's a generation with a lot of pain and fear in my experience.

@anodyne I am of the opinion that AI and UBI need to be a package deal. This kind of thing is only going to get worse as AI gets better. UBI or rejection of AI will be the only viable options.
Hope this isn't the company you work for and all's well with you.

100% on UBI. I work in tech, but not for Block. So, for today, I'm fine. Thanks.

@StarsSuck I was drafted and went for my pre induction physical at the famed,of Alice's Restaurant, Whitehall Street pre induction Center. That was pretty scary. Ended up failing the physical.

@Jett129 Hope they didn't send you to the "Group W" bench
