How about dishwasher loading strategy? My wife thinks if you put them in without scrubbing first, the dishwasher will work harder and get them cleaner.

We would also have to run it every two days with her racking mechanics whereas I can Tetris them in there so we run it once a week.

I have one about belt loops... Especially with the heavier denims, I find the rear belt loop digging into my spine in certain situations (leaned back on the chopper seat especially, but also laying on garage floors under a car, etc.). For obvious reasons I don't notice it as much with the 14oz, which is part of why I gravitate towards it. I've wondered if dual rears would help this or make it worse....

@68degreesorless IMO the trick with the dishwasher is to not overload it. they always work best when you leave some room and do more loads.

@68degreesorless dishwasher soap actually needs grease to fully activate the soap, completely cleaning them first actually helps defeat the process.

@68degreesorless the real question is, are you going to humbly approach your wife now to let her know she was right about this and probably every other thing you've argued about over the years??

Minutefood did a great YouTube video on the dishwasher thing. Everything she does is great though. Basically it echos the above with some minor exceptions.

I definitely at least get rid of larger particles of food just because I'm too lazy to want to clean the trap too often.

Related rant: why in the fuck is most dishwasher detergent scented? It tends to permeate silicone and plastics. It makes no sense to me at all. Laundry detergent, soap, shampoo, conditioner, or lotion? Sure, I get it. Dishwasher detergent? Nope, can't think of a single reason for it.

We found some unscented pods we use but still eschew the dishwasher to handwash certain items.

                                Think it, be it.

I only clean off “chunks”. If it’s sauce or dried on the plate I throw it in as is. I swear our newer dishwasher goes for like 4 hours on the “auto” setting…supposedly more efficient that way.

If they didn’t it would be gone in a heartbeat.
