It would be awesome if climate change made it cold in our region all year round. I'm not sure what the long term implications of this would be… But at least I could wear ultra heavy stuff all the time besides jeans.

It was nuts in the Great White North this past week. On Thursday, I turned on the air con in the morning and during the day. I had to turn the heat back on overnight to Friday. We actually had snow through out early part of Friday ???

Anybody here get homesick when they are traveling? I'd love to be able to give my cat a snuggle for about 15 minutes and make a good cup of coffee, and open my mail right now.

I share your pain… our new house is delayed and we handed over the keys to our old one 10 days ago. We’re living at my in-laws cabin which is nice, but I find myself grieving for the comfort and familiarity of my old house, while not having the pleasure and excitement of my new one.

It's interesting to read this now because I have whatever the opposite of that is, and I'm betting some other people do as well.
Last night my wife and I went out to a restaurant (and sat inside and got served) for the first time since the start of the pandemic, with no kids. We just sat there in silence for a few minutes, looking around the room that was definitely not our house, listening to noises that were definitely not our children. After we were done eating we just…got up, and didn't have to do the dishes.
So I guess the lesson is too much of anything can be stressful. I'm reminded of the Tony Robbins TED talk, about the 6 human needs (the whole thing is good, but the needs come up at around 10:00).
Those of us who have been hanging at home have too much certainty, yourself on the road constantly has too much uncertainty.
