These are the official shorts for Alabamians - I'll admit they are very accommodating to our climate (I have a few pairs for fishing and paddleboarding), but I hate seeing people wear them to nice restaurants with a dress shirt and calling it "coastal formal"

Reminds me of a restaurant we went to in Hawaii last summer- the dress code was listed as "Aloha Casual."  No idea wtf that was supposed to mean.  Probably the same as coastal formal.

Every middle class dad in Houston would tell you that a pair of cargo shorts and a company logo polo shirt are absolutely essential for weekend wear.  Every. Single. One.
