Hello General Giles, Paula & IH fans,
I'm delighted to receive my 1st IH pair today! I went for the Beatle Buster 21 oz. First, many thanks to G. & Paula for the wonderful service: the denim got shipped the same day and reached me in Dubai 5 days! The product itself has exceeded all my expectations: Beautiful denim (heavy!), fit and construction! No doubt, a pair to cherish for a long time especially given its my 1st japanese selvedge.
Question about sizing: I measured my favorite 4 jeans as per the provided instructions to determine which size to order. Ended up going for 33 (width). When I tried them on, the fit felt great but not overly tight. If these were regular (non-denim) trousers it would be just perfect! I had zero difficulties buttoning up and the only way I can put my finger in here is by squeezing it (not too hard) between the denim and my belly.
That said, i can help but think i might have gone 1 size smaller. I often read that people would get by their supposedly perfect denim size by buying a pair that is initially (very) hard to button up since the denim eventually stretches out to fit hem perfectly.I'm interested in your opinion on the subject and don't mind exchanging my pair for size 32 to get a perfect fit. Your input is really appreciated by his IH newbie

I cant post fit pics unfortunately. My full length mirror was recently smashed (luckily I'm not superstitious!) but to give you a good idea: my fit looks very similar to the comparo pic of Beatle vs 634 on the BB threat. It's also a bit beefier than the pics of G. wearing the BB (same thread), which looks slightly slimmer on the thighs and calves
I'm concerned because I read several times that some IH jeans do stretch up to 2.5 inches! Also I've just noticed that while the front waistline is as described before, I can slip my palm very very easily under the back waistline. Th fit is great now but if it stretches that much then I wont be happy with it. I'm assuming those who reported that much stretching wear belts too, no? (I always do)
Shit this is confusing… Not sure what to do....

Seul and J-IV are right that the waist won't stretch much if you wear a belt, the people who are getting 2" of stretch are getting that much because they bought a smaller waist size than their waist actually measures. However, they will stretch a bit in the seat and thighs (in my experience) because the denim stretches in these areas when you sit. So if your fit is borderline enough that you won't like it if it stretches slightly in these areas, size down one and they will stretch to fit you perfectly. Otherwise, keep what you have.

Good point xtcclassic. I think I'm gonna hold on to these based on all the feedback. Besides shipping cost turned out to be 80 usd and that's jut one way!!

I love a stack as much as the next guy, but it's got to be a smarter cuff with the RWs - especially pre first wash. Kind of moved away from sneakers as I've got older too, so the 'tidier' silhouette you get with a cuff tends to work with more of my footwear.
Love these so much I'm now eyeing up a pair of IH-666Sod, but am slightly nervous about the fit (these BBs are 34). A 34 will be pretty tight to start with but I'm thinking I just go with it, right?

Sorry. I have both in 34 and your BBs appear to be a little tighter than mine. Based on that, I don't think you would enjoy the 666od in the same size. You'd be happier w/ the 36. After 9 mos of daily summer wear, my od is still skin tight. They showed up at my house w/ a 32 waist and little to no room for my balls. In fact, if you like your BB, you'd probably enjoy the BBod more than the Devil.

Iron Heart has come out with a lot of GREAT denims over the last few years, but the original 21oz. still holds its own against the best of them. It's just so damn sexy. Congrats to Qinhan, GingerMagician, and zatenm on your new Busters.

Now leaning towards the IH-555-03 over the 666Sod - sticking to the original plan to find a pair in a 'proper' black and I'm thinking the fit up top on these will suit me a lot better.
