Pocketknives/Kitchen Knives/Fixed Blades

@mmerkle Never heard of the brand before either, but can’t go wrong with M390 steel & it’s more of a fidget spinner or fidget flipper I should say

Tbh my most used knife is a beat up Milwaukee fastback utility knife with the folding bit holder
I don’t know too much about knives, but I do have some favorite brands & steels.Ooh Balisong! You still got them? Any pics?
-
@RoxRocks86 only have one anymore. I do have pics of the rest still. If you’re a fan, any makers you like? These were probably my favorites that I let go…big fan of Syco blade works:

-
@mmerkle it’s a shame you don’t have them anymore those are killer!
I’ve only messed with balisongs a few times. My plan is to get my first one next time I hit up the Philippines
-
@Denman-John I’ll see what I can do

Oh another thread of things I like as much as IH
(still a forum-noob)Today’s: Hawk Talon.

ol faithful -
New big boy in the house, sized next to the small Inkosi (one of my faves)

-
Still got the first ever knife I bought myself. SOG Tomcat 2. Must of been over 25 years ago. Absolute tank.

-
@1WayTrip those OGs are super collectible. Nice one right there!
-
@Anesthetist Very nice. Now you need a wood inlay to complete the set

-
@Denman-John I’ve owned wood inlayed CRKs but even though they’re stabilized hardwood, something in my brain thinks they’re fragile.
I still wouldn’t kick a bog wood Seb out of bed. -
Up the Sebenza

-
Just realized one of my favorite folders share common ground with my favorite IH-cut

-
Very cool. Is that a PDW?
-
@1WayTrip it is. Large inkosi, magnacut. I did my best polishing the thumb studs because I really don’t like the blue.

I’ve always loved pocket knives. I got a Swiss army knife as a child and had it for many years.
Then 15 years ago I upgraded to a Fällkniven U1 - lovely knife (I have the blue bone version that they put in the outlet…), and at that time it was legal to carry it everywhere in Denmark, so it lived in my pocket - until the knife laws changed.
Now I mainly use it around the house, which is a damn shame, as a knife like that really excels at tasks where a specialized tool - that I often have at hand when I’m at home - would be better, but isn’t available.
Due to the legal constraints I have only bought kitchen knives since I got the U1. But recently I’ve found myself comming back to this fixed blade (producers picture):

An outdoors knife made by Moki, who make Fallknivens folders. VG7 steel, 8,5 cm blade, linen mircata handle - and a beautiful shape. I don’t do nearly enough hiking to justify it, but I am going on a shelter trip with my youngest this weekend…
-
So I managed to restrain myself. The Moki is great, but I don’t spend enough time camping or hiking to justify getting it. My trusty Fällkniven will have to do:

So instead of buying a knife I’ll end up regretting not using enough I’ll be looking for a slicer/sujihiki to supplement these:

Buck 110 just arrived today. Sharpest factory blade I’ve ever owned.
