@Denimhead-0 @Denman-John Those Shoei neotec 3 helmets are SICK. super nice but super pricey!

I have a Simpson for the super cold weather, but I much prefer my 3/4 helmets for feeling, visibility, and mobility. The discontinued "Bandit" 62e55c1b-c94e-4492-baf0-5be05812f9d4-image.png

I got tired of the wind noise of open face helmets…it wasn’t bad for a quick trip across town, but after a few hours and it seriously messed with my hearing. Only wear full face now. I like Arai as it fits my head shape better.

I had an Arai helmet that I loved, but once I started wearing flip up helmets I landed on Nolan, which I felt was the best of both worlds. They’re pretty visibility conscious in their overall design. At the end of the day it comes down to which one is the most comfortable,as all the top level helmets will protect you. I had one black helmet and once I got a white one, especially in the Summer,it’s was significantly cooler.

Thanks guys for your input. I ended up ordering a Shoei Neotec 3 this morning. I’ve been using a Scorpion Exo modular helmet for the past 5 years and it’s time for an upgrade. I ordered a white helmet for the same reasons @Jett129 mentioned - cooler in the summer. This will be my first non black helmet and am looking forward to trying something different. I’ll post pictures when it arrives.

I wanted to be flash so I've got a carbon fibre HJC modular (which is super comfy, can wear it all day without taking it off) but the Neotec is the king of the modular helmets.

Modular is the best option IMO, especially dual homologated. Open when I'm going slow, closed when I'm going a bit quicker and need the protection. I don't struggle at all with visibility, but I learned with closed face helmets.

I get a new Daytona Cruiser every couple years since my helmet get thrown around and abused a lot. IMO, they're the best-buy for 3/4 helmets. They're cheap and actually cool-looking cuz they're pretty slim but still have a DOT certification. They're pretty oval-shaped, which works well for my chrome-dome. I find most helmets to be too round. I usually stuff some foam into the earholes to help with the wind noise, but its true, visorless is louder.

get proper customfitted earplugs designed for motorcycle riding. best investment I've made, wish I'd had the money 25 yrs ago. Enables riding old flimsy 3/4 helmets or davida style eggshell helmets like you have soundproof fullface. (fullface helmets don't belong on a chopper)

Here in NorCal it rained like hell over the weekend with plenty of snow in the mountains. So no riding for me. Although the weather didn’t keep Club brother Terra from competing in the North Bay MC Sawmill Enduro. He finished 3rd in A Open and 35th overall out of 150 entered. Not too shabby for a 6’7” 240 pound, 42 year old on a 350.

Anyways, my bike barn ain’t exactly 100% waterproof. So I went out this afternoon to check on the remuda, move some oil around in those motors and clear out the carbs on the antiques. I got a new key fob for the Duc too. Can’t wait until it gets some patina on it. If it catches your eye, check out Malevolent Leather. Sophie does excellent work. Anyways, bike porn to follow:

                                My pleasure, Sir.

That XR in the driveway is a heavily modified, vintage, track only XR. Take a close look at the bottom case below the cylinders. It’s at least an inch taller than stock. He did the welding and grinding himself. The bike is plated for
                                The street too. Super cool.
