Great score, those look fantastic! I’ve been wearing my Natural CXLs in the evenings and on the weekends more than any other boot this summer, but those roughout boots are something else. 🔥

@northsouthdenimguy I know that there's a lot of great leather choices but IMO rough out is always a no brainer. But your narural HH morisson boots are fantastic too!!

Looking at the JL Engineers in Natural CXL. Is the consensus to go 1/2 size down from Brannock? I have E width feet. Also wondering about how they age in case anyone has some photos they are willing to share.

@jdwaid I think most people go 1 size down from brannock, basicly what you would wear in Iron Rangers, I can fit 9.5d too bit my right foot is wider than my left one so I size up for some more width. I now have a little more heelslip at the left boot than I would prefer but it was the same with other engineer boots and it got better after break in everytime. So if you have standard feet, you don't have to size up to 1/2 down from brannock I'd suppose. A 9.5E would be golden for me but there's only one width unfortunately. But the best thing is I don't need plastic bags to get into the boots 👍

@FlavourFade I watched that video. Sounds crazy to have to do that 😂

I decided to go 10.5 and see if they fit. My instep is 10.5” and in tired of long break in periods with my footwear. Freenote Cloth offers penalty free refunds so if I get it wrong I can try a different size and only pay shipping.

Excited to join the engineer boot club. I picked 634 and 888 denim for my next round and think engineers will compliment those cuts pretty well. I also needed something a little sleeker for work and it seemed like John Lofgren was the way to go.

Everybody’s feet are different but I go half down on JL engineers from Brannock, I’m 11.5 D and I wear 11 in JL.

I am an 11.5d brannock and wear an 11d in the engineers. It was a struggle to get my feet in as well till they broke in. Even before they were broken in, they outside of the struggle to get my foot in, they were perfect and the most comfortable boots I own. If I had size down a full size, I would have never been able to get my feet in.

9.5D on the spot with a bit of arch and the JL 9.5 is like a size too big.

Got my Lofgrens today and they are 10/10. Sized one half down as folks here suggested and they fit well, just the slightest amount of heel slip and snug everywhere else.

They look great, Congrats. That heel slip should lessen as you break them in. Mine fit very similarly when I first got this pair.

I was so impressed with the fit and construction of the John Lofgren Wabash Engineers that I went ahead and picked up the El Capitan in Horween Dark Olive CXL. I was drawn to the unstructured toe box and the olive color which I think so unique. This is day 1, no patina and just wear around the house. I’m sure they will age really well.

For those who are interested in sizing - the last on the El Capitan is narrower and shorter than the Wabash engineer. I am a Brannock 11e and went true to size on the El Capitan (size 11) and they ended up being the same length and width as the Wabash engineer which I went half size down (size 10.5).
