O0 I will start looking at hide prices, I had a few quotes and the ranged from £90 - +£200. I will try for some samples.

Any one keen on using a buckle like this. I have been planning to make my self one.

I like em. I think though that I would like Chicago screws more so I could use buckles I already have.

To show the different colours (L-R)
1. worn untreated for 2 months then light coat of mink oil. (also different leather)
2. 2 coats of mink oil then 2 coats of Obenaufs HP as i thought being a dog collar it needs some love.
3. 2 coats of mink oil
4. 2 coats of brown stain then mink oil

WOW! Just did a little dance in my bedroom. ha ha Thank you! Not having even seen a whole hide and by going by the measurements one supply has giving I can max get 17 belts at 1.5". So I would like to cap the order at 13, (Thirteen Leather Goods) to be safe.
I hope to get word from suppliers this week and hope to get some samples that I will show and then can put costs together.

what´s the "damage" like?…btw. brilliant idea/stuff there Todd!
I want to wait for samples before i put a price out there because:
1. There is a big price difference in hides. The more expensive are tanned in the UK and one is quite famous with belts. Also would like the group to decided which one to go with.
2. I have no idea about cost of the hide getting to meI don’t want to put a figure out there that will scare people away and I don’t want to put a low one out and have to change it later.
