@Paul9221 way ahead of you.  🙂

"How many denim shirts do I need"? That formula being n+1, where "n" is the number of denim shirts you currently own. The really good news is that you can substitute "n" for UHF's, pairs of jeans, or indeed vests  ::)

This must be one of the laws of the universe…..

      In search of:
      IHV-04, med.
      IHSH-185, large
      IHSH-186, large (khaki, and green)

@neph93 All it takes is one minor difference, and then I can, without much difficulty, find a way to rationalize it.  🙂

By the way, I went to Self Edge here in LA and tried on the superblack IH vest. Looked pretty sharp. I'll have to get your thoughts one of these days on good starter vests. I was thinking just a classic denim. I wear a 42 (which is XL, no?) and I think they are sold out in the 21 oz version in my size so I might have to wait on it a little bit.

What size do you take in IH shirts, and will you be wearing the vest over tees or shirts?

@neph93  I am 23.2 pit to pit and about 21 in the waist, so that seems to be an XL or XXL in IH gear. I'd wear it under a western or t-shirt. If my wife wanted, I'd wear just the vest, but I don't think she's looking for that.

I’d go for an XL vest to wear over layers (shirt and a tee for example) and an L to wear just over a tee shirt.

I’ve tried to convince my wife that I’m still young, cool and hot enough to wear vests over singlets but she’s not having it. When I point out that this leaves me feeling neither support nor validation, she suggests it isn’t a problem as I have lots of delusion to be getting along with.

thinking about pulling the trigger. I've heard a couple owners here recommend sizing down and was wondering if there was any sizing advice from you guys please? I know I asked a few months ago but maybe a few more opinions/impressions would be great.

in my experience, advice on sizing on this forum has been spot on

                  Im 5'11 172 lb, wear a L in UHF.

                  thanks again in advance.

I'm 5'10", 170lbs, L in UHF and I went with a M on this. But I don't use it like a shirt, I use it as a shirt jacket over a t-shirt.  Not sure that I could button it all the way to the top, I was going for a more slim fit.

                    Blanket-line all the things!!!

I’m a similar build but I think it depends how you want to wear it and what your chest measurement is. My chest is about 39”-40” and I could likely fit into a medium or large. I might opt for the large and hot wash it to get any shrink out. Likewise, you could do a medium and cold wash

hey guys I noticed that the weft of my shift is noticeably dense and a shade of blue/grey (as opposed to the standard white or beige weft on other indigo offerings..)

do you know if this denim is used in a specific jean? I really like how it looks and think it would look great in a jean..

                            thanks guys

Had a week long love affair with this shirt that ended a couple days ago when I shipped it back to Self Edge.  😞
Please do remake with a different denim! I will definitely buy it.

I think it was something like the frequency of the stitch of the buttonhole machine not fitting the weave of the denim.
