        Nice!

This one caught my eye when I was reading about a Hodinkee special edition FF Bathyscaphe (why you'd want a watch blog special edition escapes me, but they seem to do well): https://gearpatrol.com/2019/07/17/gear-patrol-special-edition-watch/

This one is a Gear Patrol SE, but I don't think anything on the watch connotes that / ruins the watch.

        Think it, be it.

          Nice Rolex @mikebarhoot .

@mclaincausey the Hamilton looks good. They haven't done anything crazy and the orange details give it a pop of colour that's a bit less conservative than the Swiss tend to be.

The Hodinkee Bathyscaphe is a bit more conservative. I like that they deleted the date window, but the Seventies model has a bit more quirk to it.

Exactly, not staid, but not wild. I will raise the obvious objective to the date window being on a white field, which is the only flaw other than the kind of weak depth rating. I like the Hodinkee piece too, aside from the inscription on the rotor. Generally not a huge fan of the open caseback for divers, but I could let it slide.

            Think it, be it.

I was at a TAG Heuer event run by Time and Tide last night, which was showing off the Carrera 02T Tourbillon Nanograph. It's an interesting piece, particularly from the technology side (and I'm pretty sure part of its conception was to troll Patek Philippe), though the carbon case made it feel a bit plasticky.

It does glow nicely under a UV light, there's even lume on the tourbillon.

One of the guys there had a very battered Seamaster 300, which he'd lent to a journalist to try out. It'd taken a beating when he caught his kid during a fall, but it's definitely a very cool watch.

                  I'm in love

I don't know why I have such a hard on for tonneau cases

Note the hash marks on the date window. Kind of neat

I thought that you'd have gone for something a bit more tactical @DougNg! 😃

On that front, here's the IWC Top Gun Double Chronograph in Ceratanium, which falls into the none so black category.

I've seen Zenith do the date window cutout differently such that a bit of the chapter ring tach is left intach-ed rather than rendering the markers on the date window.

Love the case (especially the radial brushing contrasting the polished flanks) but find the dial to be a bit busy.

                      Kinda dig the TG too.

I’m REALLY not in the market for a new watch but if I were an El Primero would top the list.

I want to like that IWC, but the specs just irritate.  21mm strap, so aftermarket options are limited.  16.7mm thick, which is just huge.  A screw down crown, but only 6 bar water resistance; that's just badly done.  And why, I ask, does it have a movement decorated with Cotes de Geneve and perlage when it has a solid case back?

A titanium/ceramic case sounds fascinating, though.  I wonder if IWC will roll out colors other than black…

Casio are bringing out a titanium version of the G-Shock. It's got a Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating, which makes it black and imbues it with a rubber like texture. The mineral glass of the original has also been upgraded to sapphire. So has the price, to ¥150,000, about $1400.

This is my cheap $50 g-shock that I bought 3-4 yrs ago. Still going strong. Not sure how long batteries last on these though

I've had this one for a few years and it's my favorite square G-Shock

                                      https://www.seiyajapan.com/products/g-gw-s5600-1jf

It's a Japan exclusive but it's not difficult to find in the West.

I've swapped out the bezel and band for a standard set for a more toned down look

It's lighter than a standard square because of the titanium caseback, and the alarm is louder because it's a thinner caseback.

                                      A good video on it:
