Watches - another OCD problem
-
Is $7k reasonable for that movement? Not saying it isn't, just asking.
-
Yeah, I have a similar Valjoux-based movement that's automatic, more bph, more jewels and has a quickset date on it, and I paid less than half that for the watch–that's why I was curious. Gorgeous watch either way, and obviously the movement isn't the only thing to consider.

Might be alone on this one, but I feel watches with black dials should have black date wheels. Just makes for a cleaner look, I think.

IMO grand seiko is very understated. It is a piece of art. Thanks Carlmart.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I couldn't agree more!

Since there's a bit of Seiko love around here, Hodinkee did a piece on the High Beat Grand Seiko with the limited edition green dial. They've also got a preview of the upcoming Watches of Knightsbridge auction. This Omega chronograph looks sweet. @Snowy - I don't have any plans to get an Apple Watch. It looks interesting, but it doesn't play well with other phones, and I'm pretty tied into the Android world right now.
-
I am going to get an apple watch. It ties in well with my lifestyle. It will replace my fitbit. I am also a biased apple fanboy. It is not to replace my Seiko and or my my future dateless Submariner. It will be used strictly as a casual sports watch.

Sent my Oysterdate to this guy for service: http://www.archerwatches.ca/service.html In April. Email from him yesterday to let me know he's almost done, but for a new crystal and then 10 days of testing and adjustments. When he's done, I get the watch and a massive PDF showing every step of his process. Obsessive?

hahaha. @Snowy , been waiting awhile for that question to be actually asked here. as much as an apple fanboy myself. i wouldnt be getting that watch. i feel that it doesn't really fit the bill as your typical watch, be it a mechanical or digital watch. i just cant seem to justify that as a watch myself. and even like @derivative666 mentioned, i think other sports watches like suunto might be more practical in that sports sense.

Archer is supposed to be the man! Turn around time seems a little steep but I've heard nothing but positive reviews of his work. Let us know how it turns out. I have a beater Tag that is due for service I was going to send up to him. Sent my Oysterdate to this guy for service: http://www.archerwatches.ca/service.html In April. The Seiko Monster is a very useful watch to have around. It is nice to have a reliable auto that can take a beat down.
