Waiting in line at the DMV wearing a dive watch 🙂 The Seiko Monster is a very useful watch to have around. It is nice to have a reliable auto that can take a beat down.

Probably the right thread for the question. Anyone here interested in the Apple Watch? If anyone from a watch PoV is going to wear it, it'd be someone in here….

Since there's a bit of Seiko love around here, Hodinkee did a piece on the High Beat Grand Seiko with the limited edition green dial.

They've also got a preview of the upcoming Watches of Knightsbridge auction.

                          This Omega chronograph looks sweet.

@Snowy - I don't have any plans to get an Apple Watch. It looks interesting, but it doesn't play well with other phones, and I'm pretty tied into the Android world right now.

I am going to get an apple watch. It ties in well with my lifestyle. It will replace my fitbit. I am also a biased apple fanboy.

It is not to replace my Seiko and or my my future dateless Submariner. It will be used strictly as a casual sports watch.

Email from him yesterday to let me know he's almost done, but for a new crystal and then 10 days of testing and adjustments.

When he's done, I get the watch and a massive PDF showing every step of his process.

hahaha. @Snowy , been waiting awhile for that question to be actually asked here. as much as an apple fanboy myself. i wouldnt be getting that watch. i feel that it doesn't really fit the bill as your typical watch, be it a mechanical or digital watch. i just cant seem to justify that as a watch myself. and even like @derivative666 mentioned, i think other sports watches like suunto might be more practical in that sports sense.

Archer is supposed to be the man!  Turn around time seems a little steep but I've heard nothing but positive reviews of his work. Let us know how it turns out.  I have a beater Tag that is due for service I was going to send up to him.

No Apple Watch for me. If they did a band with sensors (so basically a much better version of a jawbone) then I'd snap it up.

I don't want to replace my BR03 with that though.

I found a Tudor Ranger on the Bund strap in Schaap + Citroen in Amsterdam today. It's a really nice piece, and I was pleasantly surprised. I suspect it can be dressed up or down too.

The asking price here is €2300. Not sure what it'll be when it tips up in the UK.
