The Alden store on Madison just took my 401's back, no questions asked. The guy estimated about a month turn around, so I'll check back in with a fresh resoled pair.

I will give credit when it is deserved. The manager of the alden SF shop just called. He informed me he was not present this weekend and apologized for the way the matter was initially handled in his absence. he has shipped out a new pair of 405's and told me not to worry about returning the defective boots until I recieve the new pair on Thursday, and provided paid shipping for them to be returned to them.

Same here.  That's excellent customer service, and I hope we'll hear more stories like this, rather than the ugly ones that we've seen before.

Recieved my replacement pair Indys today. Interesting to see that This year appears to have a bit taller and more true "mocc toe" toe box. Gonna take comparison pics in the morning to expand on this.

For now however… Must rest, been a trudgingly long week.

I found this pretty interesting that there would be a change to this classic model. Also the brown Aniline chromexcel is noticeably darker… I am not sure if this will relay in the pictures but the new pair is a very deep almost chocolate brown with only a slight tinge of red as opposed to the old pair of mine

Thanks for being such great influences guys  ::)  I caught the boot bug…. ordered a pair of White's for the boot comp but still needed something for work (business casual office job)

Had the chance to get these Alden's for a pretty good price on ebay and couldn't resist - should have em by mid-week next week - thanks a lot guys, my wallet is mad at me now.

A make-up I rarely see… 6 eyelet chukka on TruBalance last (Unionmade store, Bison Leather)

Peterock, Jason (Unionmade) and I were chatting with Nate Humble who is the Alden US West Coast rep at the store party a few years ago and came up with an idea of a six eyelet chukka on Trubalance last.  Jason submitted the work order through but we never heard back.  Fast forward a few years later…. then this shows up.
