@popvulture haha well happy to say owners are originally from Austin & kept everything traditional by slow smoking meats for hours on end. Best bbq I’ve had ever! The meat was so tender, flavorful, & melted in your mouth. They gave bbq sauce which wasn’t needed. Their dry rub packed more than enough flavor & the pork ribs just fell off the bone. Need to go back for their beef ribs which is their #1 item.

@RoxRocks86 Pro Tip...If the meat is falling off the bone of your ribs,it means they're over cooked. You should have to tug a little bit and leave a bite mark. Don't mean to BBQ nerd out on you,but it's my absolute favorite food.

Those sides of raw white onion, pickle chips, and plain white bread even look legit for txbbq from the few times I've had it there on travel. Making me hungry for good bbq now which is almost no where to be found up here.

@Jett129 oh wow that is news to me! Everyone always raves about meat falling off the bone equaling the best cooked ribs. Good to know, thanks for the tidbit. Will certainly keep that in mind.

The only thing I go off by when it comes to bbq is if the meat is good on its own meaning even with minimal seasoning & it’s not dry, but soft & tender & no where near like chewing on bubble gum or leather.

@popvulture hopefully they are living the life. They seem to be doing very good bc their hours are Wed-Sat 11am - 3pm or until they’re sold out. They seem to sell out early most days 🙂 Had to go on a random day off with no intentions of being in town just to check them out.

@RoxRocks86 I used to think the exact same thing until I started going to BBQ competitions and talking to the teams and some of the judges. If the meat is falling off the bone you loose points.

They’re a bit crispy skinned and chewy inside. I lightly toasted them too.

                                  The place is https://www.richspiritbagels.com/

If you find yourself there, you’re near me @pechelman and I’d love to grab a coffee and bagel if you’re so inclined. Queen City is right there too and it’s very good coffee imo.

They are good and it’s nice to have this level of quality @Jett129 ; check out the link if you’re curious about what they’re doing but it’s a venture from one of the more respected bakeries in town.

I would love to live there. The brewery and the mesas constrain real estate acreage so it’s very expensive and difficult to find a spot in the nicest parts. It’s far enough away from but close enough to the city to be perfectly situated for someone who wants quiet but access to amenities.

We are in Wheat Ridge, so west of Denver and east of Golden. A great community too with a lot of positive growth such as this new bagel place. But being a tad closer to the mountains would be even better, especially in an idyllic place like Golden with its lazy creek and charming downtown.

To get back to food, there’s a really cool Nepalese place there we recently ate at for a friend’s birthday called Sherpa House. It has been there a while and is an institution. They have really cool Nepalese decor and even a great little store.

                                          https://sherpa.house/

There’s also a food hall called Golden Mill that is on Clear Creek. Lots of good food options and the roof has a great view of the creek and the mesas.

And the best place I’ve seen in the state for agave spirits is Golden Liquors.
