IHM-39-OLV A2 Deck Jacket or IH-101J-SR 18oz Selvedge Denim Trucker Jacket

I would like to add the Serge is on ebay for around $400-$500 price range.

Both are amazing but personally I‘d go for the A2, since I mostly wear jeans and am not the double denim type. But hey, that‘s just me.
Buy what you like as @goosehd said -
I’ve found these two to fit fairly differently at least in terms of sleeve length. I found the 101j sleeves to be far too long. The A2 fit perfectly. The A2 was more versatile for me. If you are on the fence., perhaps check measurements, that might decide it for you.

@Giles I am sorry, new here still trying to navigate the forumn

@funjazzlike1400 I have the a2 in serge and I love it. It’s very warm and I wear it a lot.

I have both, the a2 is much warmer, heavier, harder to pack on a trip, but sleeves on storm rider are longer, it's not quite as warm either, in my mind a2 is a winter jacket storm rider is a shoulder season jacket
Also covetted is the wrong characteristic to consider with Iron Heart, you'll find most people in this forum who are the biggest fans of the brand, take the attitude of if I didn't get it I didn't need it, or I'll live without it, rather than going and spending extra to get it on secondary market because people aren't buying it for the hype, at least not on the forum.

Very different jackets, totally different vibes.
Never-mind which is more popular, what is your climate? How will you wear it?The SR has a cowboy aesthetic that is great, but less versatile (IMO) than the A-2. It also has longer arms and is longer than a typical Stormrider.
The A-2 is more restrained and warmer. It is shorter than a lot of IH winter coats (at least on me) and is easier to pair. Mine is black and a mainstay in my winter coat lineup.
