      This is after washing. I've done about 4 washes in a washing machine as per this post. There seems to be a scent to them still ( I wasn't sure if I noticed it at the start ) sort of an earthy scent? Post wash. Not sure what it is, can anyone help?

              @Giles thanks yeah that's probably it. not all of my jeans have that smell, but this is my first " big boy " jeans

                Been thinking about it, it could also be the starch we use as a sizing agent.....

                  Are you soaking before washing to make sure they're fully wetted out before going into the wash and running an extra rinse on them? I've found these thicker/ heavier fabrics need a bit more water and time compared to more regular stuff.

                    I vote indigo. I’ve had some heavily dyed indigo shirts have a similar scent first few washes
