Anyone else get their UPS import fee email for import to the USA? Crazy how much UPS is throwing on top of this making it a $27 total to import. Also im seeing if you don't pay early, you may get hit with an additional ~12$ collection fee.

Mods, feel free to delete the above. I'm not intending this to be an issue for IHG at all, just a heads up for anyone in the USA considering ordering this on what to expect.

It’s why IH-Germany waived the shipping fee and stated that all the buyer had to do was to cover duties.

Many countries deal with punitive duties on a daily basis, and if I’m not mistaken, Germany is one of the worst for duties owed when their residents buy something from abroad. Canada is also pretty bad in the hierarchy of fees owed on incoming goods. Not only are the duties high, but the carriers added processing fees as well.

The US was protected for many years having a $800 USD de minimus. Now you’re experiencing what the rest of us have to deal with.

…on the flip side of this argument is that many of us do not have to pay for healthcare, tuition is subsidized or very low, and the standard of living is moderately better in some of those countries.

yea, absolutely. I'm not intending to this being a complaint against IHG, moreso intending that post to be an fyi with the actual values. The UPS fee is the one that surprised me the most being almost 2X the US calculated duty. It will be nice when the shipping is refunded as well.

Paid the UPS fee today. About $2 less than the original cost of shipping. I would have ate the cost either way because the bandana design is so good. Big thanks to IH Germany for looking out for us.
