One more question for those that wear this cut vs 888.

I have only ever tried 888s and am strongly considering the 1955 and from the compare tool the look for the most part very similar but when comparing recent measurements of 888s to these is seems they have a little more room in the thigh then the 888s. It looks like a lot of 888s have been more on the slightly narrower side then compared to previous releases of the 888.

For those that wear both, how do these compare to the 888s?

Higher front rise and from thigh to knee the 1955 is more straight so you will have more leg room. Where the taper on the 888's starts a couple of inches from the crotch, the 1955 stays straight similar to a 634 and tapers below the knee to hem.

Excited for these. 👀 have a sizing question if anyone wants to chime in. I comfortably were a 33” waist measurement. I could wear a touch smaller but not too much. Would you go with the 31.9 and hope for the one inch of stretch or go with the 33.3 and hope it doesn’t get too loose in the waist? Or is this a pass because it won’t work. I have have a 32.5” 634 that eventually stretched to to a 33; that works well for reference.

@harleylawhorn the most I ever go under is about .5” depending on the fabric.

I’ve got a similar question for the overdyed aficionados- I’ve got a pair of 21oz indigo 1955s in size 31 that stretched from ~32 to 33 in the waist and wish they were a touch smaller in the waist/seat. Do I go with the 31s which are measuring at 31 or 32s measuring 31.9?

@jfive67 you may need to put a note in the order comments stating the above. Since you seem to be between sizes, you may need to pick the size closest to your desired measurements, put a note in the comment box what you’re looking for, and see what the crew at IHUK can do.

They will work with you to try and find the perfect fit.

@jfive67 I need to stress that you do this to get the best chance of a perfect fit:

Watch this video and measure your best fitting pair of jeans (exactly as shown in the video). Write those measurements down and note all of the areas of concern. Then in your comments let them know what your ideal measurements are and those concerns:

Doing the above will give you the best chance of getting it right the first time.

Don't dilly dally around at launch. Place your order with notes re: your sizing preferences. The guys will come back to you when they process your order, if we can find nothing to suit, we will refund you. If these sell fast and you are prevaricating, you may miss out....

Also, be aware that having something in your cart does not guarantee it will still be there if there is a feeding frenzy. Stock is NOT decremented until your order is complete. So I would have your message about sizing ready to cut and paste into the comments field on the order page.

Looking for some guidance from you vets. Hoping to get these as my first pair of IH denim. I ordered a pair of 730 chinos off eBay in 35 and I can’t fasten them, though the waist measurement said 17”. I have a pair of Levi’s that measure 17” and some other 5 pocket pants that are 18”. What size should I try to grab in these? Thanks!

Once you have those measurements, compare them to the measurements chart at the beginning of this thread to pick a tag size that measure jeans that do fit you.
