      @Giles I’m curious about those carts piled with jeans and Wabash CPO’s. Are those past QC or still have to go through QC? What % of jeans and or shirts get flagged by QC and is there anything most common to see on a certain garment?

        @jordanscollected those are a partial order ready to go to the Kojima store for a second round of QC then shipping to the UK. I don’t know the factory QC fail rate, as they are not our staff, but we pick up QC fails on 5ish% of products in Kojima. The most common thing is a single missed stitch

                    Weft side out. The answer is super complicated to write down, in a way that can be understood, without me taking hours crafting the reply. but, yes it will be used.

                      @Giles what's going on here?
                      Are these going to be used for something or did something happen to them that they're not going to make the cut?

                      OK. Have some time whilst I wait for the plane to Haneda.

                      Simplistically:

                      The denim comes from the mill on 50M rolls. A pair of jeans takes, on average, 2.8M of selvedge denim.

                      So we can get approx 18 pairs of jeans out of a roll.

                      The roll is placed in a spreading machine and lays 2.8M of denim in multiple layers.

                      Let's assume we have ordered 15 pairs of tag 32. We will lay 15 layers (well probably 16 in case we end up with a defective pair), of denim, and then move that pile of 16 layers down to the cutting table.

                      The end of roll, in this case 5.6M of denim, is put to one side.

                      After we have cut most of the tag sizes, we will be left with multiple end-of-rolls. This denim will be used to make the last tag sizes, but rather than using the spreading table, the denim will be laid in 2.8M layers manually.

                            @Giles The car you were in takes “Regular” gasoline and the cover says that ensuring that the right fuel is used. It also signals to other attendants that you have been helped and are being serviced by someone in the team.

                                I have to say. This particular Japan trip has been a real pleasure to follow. So many incredible insights into the belly of the beast. Thanks for sharing and explaining all the intricacies.

                                In the easy chair with my boots on, melted whiskey in my hand. Could'na been asleep for more than three hours...time to go to work again...
