Last night we were at The Birdcage on Columbia Road for the launch of the October issue of Jocks & Nerds (placed our first ad). I have followed this free quarterly since it launched a few years ago. The writing and photography on style and street culture is second to none. It is full of articles and great interviews with icons who create trends rather than follow them; Paul Weller, Bowie and actor Peter O'Toole. Subversive German artist Otto Dix is in there too.
Weller quotes from The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde "To me, beauty is the wonder of wonders. It is only shallow people who do not judge by appearances. The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible" and the interviews explores his experimenting with style growing up in the Mod era.
O'Toole is quoted in reply to the question whether he is afraid of dying
"Petrified"
Why? He is asked
"Because there is no future in it".Best issue to date.

Danny. Our thoughts here is that we would like conversations to ebb and flow like if you were chatting face to face in a bar or whatever. Conversations deviate, and if it is important, you come back to the main topic, if you don't? Guess what? That's what happens in real life…...
