4x4’s & Overlanding

I think I posted a picture of my rig on here before. 1970 Bronco, 302.
'Rolling resto', it still needs a lot of TLC. Running on 31s, 1" body lift, 1.5" suspension. Converted to an NV3550 5speed.
Still debating if I should touch the body, but then again I know how this ends, been there before.
Current state of affairs:

Trying to hunt down a ticking noise. Pretty convinced it's the valve guides, a buddy of mine will rebuild the heads.

@worn2fade My wife’s family owns a farm and I use it on/around doing all kind of stuff. Most of the time I just fill the thing with fire wood, but haul the boat and toys (dirt bikes, 4 wheeler, Argo, side x side). A buddy of mine is an arborist and drives a 2500 gmc. He got stuck in a snow bank hauling a trailer that was loaded very heavily with logs…I put the straps on and pulled him out barely breaking a sweat. Even he was blown away with the power the thing has.

Super cool @tody - dig the colour too

2017 4Runner SR5. Definitely my fav car I've ever had. Over 6 figures on the mileage now.
First time taking it on properly gnarly stuff was last summer out in the Colorado San Juans. Fun times.

2017 F350 destroyed by a tree…not a great way to haul firewood
(Full story - Windstorm blew down the neighbours tree top which landed in my truck - It was less than a year old when it happened. )We actually drove it a km to where the flat bed was waiting to haul her to the scrapyard.

@goosehd you don't, you order everything from the US. rockauto.com is the go-to source.
-
@goosehd Whoopsadaisies. That was unfortunate.
-
@Tago-Mago yeah I guess that conversion to green energy didn’t quite work…
-
@goosehd how awesome man. You’re living the dream!
Edit: this was in response to your answer about what you haul.
Continuation— that 350 getting wrecked by a tree is insane.

@nurunuru one day I shall see what the U.S has to offer. I haven’t taken it out of Florida yet but been to multiple state parks and mudding areas.

@Go-For-Chill looks killer bro! I’ve never hunted but always wanted to try it. What do you have now?
After the Taco I got a Tundra TRD Pro with the hybrid V6. Then I realized a sports car and older truck would both cost less than the Tundra, so I got a 2000 F-350 with a 7.3L diesel, 6 speed manual, and no emissions garbage, AND a BMW M2. Both together were about $25k less than the Tundra. Funny enough, both get better fuel economy than either the Tacoma or the Tundra! Win/win/win!

This was mine, but is no longer mine.
2007 Land Rover Defender DCPU, had been messed about with by Twisted so it was nearly drivable day to day. 2.4L 4 cylinder diesel engine from a Ford Van. Suspension from a covered wagon, I wish it was as water tight as a covered wagon.
It was excellent in the mud, terrible in wet, and worse in the cold. Useful for British potholes, making friends with strangers and pay mechanics mortgages.
I loved it and hated it in equal measure. Not much over landing to be done in the UK, but did manage some of the further camping pitches at various damp campsites.
I put 20,000 miles on it and I sold it for more than I paid, but crucially not more than I spent.
I miss it. I had my fun. It cost more to run per year than a V8 Vantage.

@Daysleepers I absolutely love the look of Defenders and thank you for sharing. @Giles had a beautiful one as well and maybe he’ll share a picture or two…
Sadly it’s gone, but she was pretty as is/was yours.
