This fabric is so cool looking. Would be cool to see it used in a shirt!

Though I have many IH jeans, shirts, as well as the incredible N1 - I have never bought a vest. But this green looks too good to pass up - it would look fabulous over a Chambray shirt or a Foxfibre t-shirt.
I need some guidance on choosing the correct size. For IH shirts XXL fits me well (I'm 5'8", 192 lbs - no longer as svelte at 67). From the measurements of this vest I could go with either XL (23" pit-pit) or XXL (24" p-p). I think the XL might be a better fit and the XXL too loose. What do you advise?
How do people generally size vests compared to their shirt sizes?

@MarkNo what is your actual chest measurement? Any other vests you own to compare to?

IMO vests are fairly forgiving but the style and how you want to wear it depends as well

@MarkNo I’m no expert but mine has just arrived and my thought process seems to have worked out so I thought I’d share.

The advice I got (a bit further up this thread) was to consider sizing down as the P2P is often measured lower on the body for a vest compared to a shirt. However for this particular vest the arm opening measures a couple of inches less than for other IH vests, so this pushes the P2P back up the body. My benchmark crew members also seemed not to be sizing down so I went with my usual work shirt size which gave a P2P at the lower end of my ideal range for shirts. I’ve only checked a quick window reflection in my office (not a proper mirror) but I’m happy with my choice.

You know your body and preferences, so you might need to tweak the process slightly, but I hope this helps. Also, the vest is really nice in hand, so go for it if you think you can make it work!

Many thanks for your replies @Anesthetist & @ARNC.
This will be my first vest so I have nothing to compare to.
I think that your reasoning @ARNC is very sound about the P2P measurement being a little higher on the body than other vests due to a smaller arm opening. I will therefore go with my work shirt size XXL instead of sizing down to XL. And this will leave room for a Chambray shirt and t-shirt underneath.
In my experience all IH products shrink a little after washing even in cold water, so best not to go too small.
