@hjl360 do you have any pictures or sizes, or an idea of how many watches or other equipment would you want it to hold?

@Aetas 🙏 that would save some material to just have a smaller flap cover

The flap goes over once the tool roll is folded up, so things can’t come out.

@Lynne , my only concern with the shorter flap is that items could get banged up when they’re rolled and stacked on top of each other.

The small flap version would work fine for tools where rubbing wear is irrelevant.

@Lynne I have a watch roll that (imo) has just about the perfect dimensions. Its made from leather and suede lined so quite think material. Only mentioning it in case it matters for the pattern.

its roughly 28cm wide at the bottom by 28cm tall

At ~10cm up from the bottom, it begins to taper slightly to ~23cm at the top

It has space for four watches and one spring bar tool. the watch pockets are 6cm, with the covering crating the pocket being more like 9cm. Only remembered to measure after taking pics, but the pocket is 8.5cm deep.

The oversized top material is accomodated by this flap construction

The spring bar tool pocket is 3cm wide, covered by 3.5cm material.

i would definitely be interested in an RE:LOVE'd version of something like this. If you need any more measurements let me know 🙂

@motojobobo a slightly smaller size, interesting. I thought you’d all have big tools and would need something bigger 🙂 I can do something with this

@tenuin 🙏 I’ve got some small pieces of deerskin that could perhaps line a denim/uhf watch roll. I’ll draw something up and have a think

Lynne a tool roll for cars would certainly require larger tools (and rolls). They are as small and light as possible on bikes.
I think that a denim as thin as 14 oz would perfectly suffice for a bike tool roll.
Ermmmm…although my dream tool roll would be made of brown duck!!!
