2. Why is the vest so much longer than the type III jackets?

1. I don't know, there are only 3 left in Japan, so we have really caught H off guard with the popularity of these.  I am trying to get a restock date out of him
2. Designed to be worn over leathers.  You will notice they they are quite a bit larger in the chest too

you´re right…though my duck type III is slightly longer as the sb vest, i totally forgot that my type III was two sizes bigger (XXL) as the vest (L)...so i guess a large type III would be a tad shorter in length!...thx!

who me?…if yes, then the answer is no!...the vest is perfect as is...can be worn with just a t, a t+flannel and even a t+flannel+hoodie is no problem!
that´s why i´m looking to size down on the type III though

Wasn't sure if you had much layering space under the vest but if you say you can fit a tshirt, flannel and hoodie under it, you're rocking.

on a side note, i'm glad i bought the XS and did not heed LN's advice. as i am a tiny asian guy, the XS is still a little long for me, when I sit I have to unbutton the bottom 2 to be able to sit comfortably and not have the vest cover half my face. They are really something different though! I love how rigid yet comfortable they feel hugging my body, like I'm tucked into my bed.

Hi supersalami the vest is roomier in the chest and longer so it may be worn over a leather jacket per haraki's idea. I would have been able to put off a xs too but stayed in my usual small. This enable me to wear a flanell or a hoody under it. But hei I am in freezy switzerland and not in average 30 Celsius areas

I'm usually an XS in everything, if IH had XXS, I'd wear that.
Ah well that explains! I can only go the maximum, 2 layers til I sweat my balls off..

looks good ss, though I think you should decide if cuff, stack or even hem…IMO the cuff+stack option doesn't look that great!
