I'm contemplating doing a type III out of indigo Kersey…..
I've not seen a Kersey in the wild, so how would a Kersey Type 3 feel different compared to the cord versions. I get the impression Kersey may be a bit stiffer, but I'm guessing.

Ok after I proposed the above Storm Rider it got me thinking; everyone does one and I know IH will do a great one but what could be cooler than that. What could be even better? And then it hit. An all black 21oz Storm Rider. Black Cord collar, black blanket lined and wrapped in all black 21oz denim! Now that is news worthy.
Resurrecting/bumping this idea… would love this

I was thinking the same thing, Mouton, alpaca, or nylon fleece in black.

My vote would be for as black as possible for as long as possible. Maybe make it out of vantablack

I actually kinda think a Sherpa collar would work as well as the black corduroy and would be a more effective insulator if you flip it. But corduroy is at least as awesome for the collar and more in keeping.
Maybe that idea should be reserved for the murdered out type III Sherpa

Either perma-black or sbg, whatever can happen first. 21oz or more. Bronze or copper snaps. I'd probably prefer a black cord collar, but black sheep sherpa wool would be awesome; or black moleskin. Cord or moleskin lined pockets. I'd opt for either uhf, nylon and primaloft gold (60g?), or the fleece from 14oz ihsw sweats (hoodie, zipp or liner) or moleskin.
I desperately want a type 3 that can be worn in the dead of the new England winters. Talking below 30 or 20 F. And something black or OD. Indigo on indigo is cool, but love the black top indigo bottoms most often.
Can we just take a 9256pj, line it with either the ihsw 29 or ihj 79?
I wear my 9526pj most of the winter because it is just beautiful. The fabric is just incredible to the eye and hand., BUT I have to wear a puffy vest over and at times an extra wool layer underneath. It's a pia, but the IH type 3s are so epic, it's worth it most days.

Two things, the black/beige 21oz denim is waiting to be made into something. That would be beautiful. If we want something hardy then alpaca lined with matching collar like the N-1’s would be a good call. Secondly, if we want really hardy (and non-fading) then a black whipcord type III utilising all the specs of the N-1 (including the windproof layer) would be pretty spectacular.
