I consider myself lucky to live in a more backwoods area and come across all sorts of wild animals. With how global this forum is, would really enjoy seeing what wild animals roam your parts. This morning I watched a fox eye a squirrel for about 20 minutes from my kitchen window. Wish I caught it on camera but it happened in an instant. Not a good day for squirrel.

There is a beautiful piebald whited tail deer that I have seen in my neck of the woods. I took these photos when my FIL spotted it from his truck.

I saw this Barred Owl while walking on the Chesapeake and Ohio (C & O Canal) path along the Potomac River last week with my wife. The river makes part of the border between Wesr Virginia and Maryland.

Here are is an American Toad I found in a Azelia bush in my backyard. And a Ruby Throated Hummingbird on one of the feeders I put out in the spring and summer months.

@flannel-slut I love this idea too! The most interesting wildlife near me is airborne and either fast or high up, so I might not get as far as pictures!

MD has a great snake scene. As long as you don’t step in a pile of leaves you’ll be all good. Here in ABQ we have rattlesnakes. I haven’t seen one in the wild yet but from what I understand they are nice enough to give you a heads up before ruining your day.

Still trying to make it to one of the spots where tarantulas come out in October. I’ll report back.

@flannel-slut great thread man…I’ll try to get some pics of our local critters. Only recent one I could find was of a possum. They are not my favorite

We get a LOT of black bear activity all over my town, but our neighborhood is a notorious spot for it. This was of the most recent pics I could find of the street right in front of my house.

Ooh, we’ve had bobcats and coyotes for sure, but no mountain lions in close to town. I’m pretty sure we’re also on the edges of their range to begin with.

Bad pic, but here’s a bigun peeking at me over our fence the other day.

Not sure whether this wildlife qualifies in this thread, you guys are posting impressive species. The largest I’ll get to is possum; monkey occasionally. Other than that it’ll all be feathered wildlife.

                                    IMG_2465.jpeg
                                    IMG_2464.jpeg

I put out water, seeds and fruit for these guys. Got about five species here: ruddy dove, saffron fronted finch, grey dove, and three others I only know by their local names (jichi taruma, falso tordo, seboi).

                                    The journey is the objective.
