Just my two cents, but maybe tweak the name of this thread to put a more optimistic spin on these 'failures'?
I know for one I've been upset and disheartened by these things in the past, and seeing a thread with a more positive title may help people feel better about such mishaps.
Perhaps 'I messed up, a place for denim mistakes or; How I learned to stop worrying and love the Wabi-Sabi'

Probably got away with it because it's SBG but I totally bollocksed up my IH-526J-SBG sample by not soaking it before washing.
Practice what you preach and all that

Yeah, something not to admit in the pub. Someone spilled a pint on my new-ish IH-555N during the World Cup, I had a sense of humour failure and complained "these natural indigo". What originally was sympathy from my mates quickly turned in to piss taking

I have a pair of 888XHSib that I have thrown in the washer and dryer 7-8 (maybe more? I lost count) times. Anytime I had a load to wash, I just thew them in with what was dirty. These are my pair with paint on them from last summer. As an experiment, I wanted to see how what XHSib looked like washed the fuck out with vintagey style fades. I can post photos later when I get home if anyone is interested.

Mistakes are made by all of us, we learn, and move on...it's not a bad thing.
I once drilled into the bottom of an air conditioner's bottom pan because the unit was incorrectly mounted, kept collecting water, and would freeze up because of it. I thought that if I just made an extra hole in the pan then the water could drain out and fix the freezing issue...what happened was that I drilled through the pan and directly into the condenser coils freeing all of the coolant. It was a $700 dollar mistake in the middle of the hottest part of the year
