@tody the decision to remove the D-pocket from the vests was purely aesthetic. Haraki decicded that on the vest - where you have more 'stuff' in a smaller area (the torso) it looks a little too busy, so they were removed.

RE: the oiled ones, he didnt want oil on the whipcord on the inside of the pocket, so it seemed logical to remove the D to oil the entire face of the jacket.
