@indigostiff do you think this is a manufacturing defect, or just an unfortunately by-product of the fabric being so hefty?

@T4920 I have two pairs of 33oz and I have not encountered this problem, but with such a heavy and difficult to work fabric it could be, however I am sure they will solve the problem in a very short time, it seems that it is simply a seam that needs to be redone, nothing irreparable

From Rain — I think I’ll just let them be - SoSo didn’t respond —

“ I would imagine the outseam stitching tension is just a bit skewed since the jeans are so heavyweight - most sewing machines are not able to sew fabric that thick/dense. Unfortunately I don't work on any jeans heavier than 25oz because of this - the denim is so heavy it can be impossible to get through without a much heavier custom setup conversion on the machines, and mine are already set up for heavyweight work. I caution people against extra heavyweight denim like this because almost no one is able to sew through them post-production, effectively making them unable to be repaired or altered.

As long as the stitching line is intact you should be fine but if you have concerns about the stitching or any other quality issue I would contact Soso directly since they are new.

            Thanks,
            Rain”

@indigostiff yes I think so too, but you were right to point it out because if a stitch is missed they will fix them promptly, the fabric is truly deadly I really don't know how they sew it honestly 🤣

@indigostiff respect for sticking with them!

If I ever get the chance to try the 40oz Naked and Famous jeans I might sacrifice a couple of winter seasons in my IHs for the thrill of wearing something super, super heavyweight.

Massive gimmick, but I'm a low key masochist when it comes to stiff and heavy clothing.

Noticed this as well man. SoSo and Master Supply Co. No experience with either companies gear but does make you pause.

@flannel-slut To me, that's just marketing, and whatever works, companies do. It's same as other companies having reels posted of the journeys of sponsored people in their clothing at exotic locations. It's exposure / marketing. Plus, at $365, these were a relative bargain in the heavyweight denim world, allowing customization on the selvedge / button hole color / etc., plus the quality is surprisingly good.

@indigostiff not a knock on these practices/companies per se but more so to some of the “denimfluencers”. Wont call out any in particular (unless pursued maybe) where they do not disclose if this was purchased with their own money or not and have even specifically asked in their comments, if so, to no reply. Do not get me wrong, both companies haves turned my heads with some of their pieces but feel first hand testaments, such as yours, go a lot further in building a genuine rapport with their customer base

hello good! Have they softened a little over time? I just received mine and they are very rigid. I don't know if over time they will soften enough to be comfortable to wear. Sorry if there is something that is not understood well but I am using the translator
