WESCO-MRLOU-PUR - Wesco® - 10" Horsehide "Mister Lou" - "The Purpetrator"
-
@Denimhead-0 …I’m just guessing at this point, but @Ross should be able to confirm when he’s in again. I think that all of the boots passed through his hands.
-
@goosehd looking closer, it’s not Wesco standards, so would say after market.
-
@goosehd wow!! i need one

-
@Jett129 Not up to Wesco standards, so my guess is a local cobbler. I’ll take em though, they look great w Jeans

-
@Denimhead-0 You’re absolutely right and you didn’t have to wait 14 months for them.
-
@Jett129 I must admit I've never asked or been asked before but I'd be surprised to the extreme if they did.
The MrLou is an engineer boot after all - being a pull-on is one of the defining characteristics, let alone the production difficulties involved sewing a zip in through horsehide while maintaining the durability that Wesco pride themselves on

Need sizing advice, as I've never tried on Mister Lous, or any Wescos. I like a 9.5E in Redwings, and a 10D in sneakers. Since the Purps only come in whole sizes and standard width, what would you do?
-
@Go-For-Chill I have 3 pairs of Mr Lou’s and wear the same size as my Red Wings, a half size down from my sneakers.
-
@Go-For-Chill the Mr. Lou last is quite narrow, the E is much closer to a standard D. If you are an E in red wings I would personally advise against the D. For this same reason, I would have picked up a pair of the leftovers but just can’t make it work… it’s a gamble for this price point.
-
I agree with @SourPower I also find the Lou to be fairly narrow and I would go for the E, I wear 10D in Red Wing, and I go for the E in the Lou
-
@Go-For-Chill I’m a 9.5D on the Brannock device and wear a 9E in the Mr. Lou; the D width is too narrow for me in the Mr. Lou. I have 4 pair of Mr. Lou’s, including the “purps”, all in E width and they all fit well. I don’t own any RW, so can’t suggest that comparison. For a sneaker comparison, I wear a 10D in my running sneaker - the ASICS Gel Kayano.
-
Sounds like the purps weren’t meant to be for my wife half-sized foot.
