IH-888S-UHR - 21/23oz Ultra Heavy Raw Selvedge Denim High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans

My UHR after 21 wears. Fairly hard wears, really trying to break them in with lots of movement such as walks, easier work and playing with the kids. Looks kinda cool on the inside.

This is not a complaint, I just want to ask how you guys do.
Obviously I can carry my phone elsewhere, I’m just so used to have it in the front right pocket. Im probably going to size down from this brick of a phone soon to.
Questions!
-
How do you carry your phone?
-
I guess there are a lot of you who have had pockets repaired. Have any of you done it yourselves? Or is the proper action to send it somewhere for repair?
Thanks guys!

@Sunnergren after getting a very vivid brick of a phone fade in my front pocket that I wasn't a fan of, I started carrying in my back pocket. Phone fade doesn't bother me as much there.
-
@Sunnergren I do not put anything in my pockets except: a Zippo in my coin pocket, which in time creates a subtle, mostly hidden fade and a folded bandana in my back left pocket. I use the bandana for all kinds of bandanay things.
I find it much easier to carry things that create bulky and (imo) unsightly fades on jeans (that distract from the areas like lap and back pocket fades and rip pocket bags, potentially) in a shoulder bag or backpack.
-
@Sunnergren I'd be interested to see them from the outside, that's some killer pocket fades for 21 wears! Although not ideal... I go back pocket with my phone when out walking and like @wjw said I've had no issues, also always pull it out when sitting...
-
@Jord trying to make better habit of pulling out while sitting myself
-
Thank you guys for taking the time. I will think it over. Definitely smaller phone next time..
Have been a ”right front pocket phone guy” for approx 25 years, hard to break habits.I’ll make sure to take some photos tomorrow

Yeah, don’t put your phone in your jeans pockets unless you really like phone shaped fades. I use a bag, the inner pocket of a type 3, or breast pockets on shirts.
-
21,5 days of UHR. Very interesting denim, I like it. Getting very warm now with days at or above 20 degrees C. If they don’t start to smell terrible I’m aiming at first real wash between 70-90 wears. I think.
Will try my best to carry my phone in backpocket or a bag, so the phone-fade will not get more prominent.

-
@Sunnergren Those are impressive fades for such a short period of time... and I think the phone fade you caught early (if you don't want one that is) so it will just blend it with more wear, sucks about the pocket bags though... you've been wearing them hard!

I think pocket repairs are tricky and I don't think IHUK offer them as pair of their free repair service. However, I've done some DIY pocket repairs using iron-on patches plus some extra stitches by hand for reinforcement. It's not pretty but it works for me!
-
@Sunnergren wow so quick with fades. What have you typically been doing in them? Cant wait to see more!
-
@Lowlander and @Tago-Mago, thank you for your insight. I will definitely read that part, thanks for the link.
@cyclops, it’s mostly lots of movement. I’m trying to get 10000 steps a day in them and sometimes it is more. Today I had a running competition so today I just have about 4000. Other than that it’s playing with the kids and preparation for an upcoming move. Lifting stuff, on the knees for assembling furniture etc. I have also cycled in them, but trying to avoid that because I don’t necessarily like the cycle-fade.

9 months of wear. Just recently started to rotate the 25oz IBs in

-
@Phil_NYC That is very prominent calf fading only on one side. What caused that?
-
@Sunnergren haha wow! Good to see you putting it through the works! I did wonder how its starting to change so quick! Well done!
-
@moskiitto It's from my car, oddly enough. I drive a Bronco and we had a brutal winter in NY. Every time I would get out of the truck my left leg would scrape on the floor board on the way to the ground, which was covered with road salt. I think that's why the fade is greenish.
