I ended up ordering from IH Germany. I am in California but I believe IH does Duties paid so I end up not having to pay sales taxes. And they do 3 day shipping for free!

@Noahf Iron Heart Germany don't pay the duties I don't think, they'll probably e-mail you before shipping to confirm that... It's only IHUK that do that

@Jord yes Germany will email to confirm size and go over the rough percentage you’ll be changed for tariffs/fees. I figured they shipped delivery duty paid like IHUK does, but as someone stated above they are a separate entity.

@Noahf like you mentioned you'll be visiting Germany at some point in the next few weeks, I would e-mail them and ask if they wouldn't mind holding them for you and you can pick up when you visit
you can even try them on! -

I really didn’t need another pair of denim but I had to get these. I really like my IH-666-XHS from last year and didn’t have the chance to try the UHR fabric so…

@Pointman my 666 SBG are 34 and I ordered 33 in UHR. that sounds about right to me!
The lovely IH folks were kind enough to find me a 33 that skewed a bit larger. So I think all will be okay.

“ULTRA HEAVY RAW (UHR) DENIM
An initial soak or wash is particularly important with this denim, as it is very stiff and abrasive in its raw state, so can cut through the constructional stitching if not bedded in. The denim is loom-state (there has been no post weave processing performed on the denim), so it will shrink and skew. Our UHR jeans are designed to be “shrink to fit”, so after washing or soaking a couple of times they will shrink to tag size. You are likely to see about one inch shrinkage in the waist and two inches shrinkage in the inseam. When you get your jeans, soak them in a bathtub or large sink of cold water for a few hours. Then turn them inside-out and wash them in a washing machine* at no hotter than 30 degrees C (circa 90 degrees F), you do not need to add washing powder or detergent. Ideally no spin (or very slow spin) and don’t put them in a tumble dryer, it is far better to allow them to air dry (still inside-out). Before they are completely dry, turn right side out and try to smooth out all the wrinkles.”
