Me too, and the product shots have me excited. As someone said, it looks inky black in the outdoor shots, but in the close up studio photography there's a world of blues, indigos and purples going on in this denim. It looks sort of bruised ???

For those that have it slimmer or sized up as an over shirt, which do you prefer?

I went TTS and can use it as both. The cut is slightly wider in the shoulders, slightly longer and slightly less tapered than westerns to accommodate this. I'd stick to XL.

Glad I jumped on these at launch, already out in Large. I have the IHSH-33 in indigo, and it made me instantly realize that I want a more jacket-like version with hand pockets, so when this appeared it was a no-brainer.

One thing has me curious, it looks like in the forums Giles (under the old version of this) said in the past that they tried to do this OD with 18oz vintage and it was a failure and they went back to the drawing board. I wonder what changed to make it work out in the end?

@rydor that is answered somewhere, I think on the samples thread. In short, first impressions were that this denim wasn’t «Iron» enough when OD’ed. It’s hand and texture were different to the previous 18oz and didn’t seem as tough and compact. However after the sample was worn for a for a bit that changed.

I mean, the large was a no brainer sizing for me, it hits basically exactly the "I usually wear non-slim mediums in most other brands" measurements perfectly. Especially since I know the western shirt I have in large works so perfectly. Looks like Rivet & Hide still has the large in stock, though.

Looking forward to how this fades. Thinking I might make my western more of a vintage fader with more frequent washes, and let this be the raw fader.

Been to Rivet&Hide and try a large and XL…

Large fits like a glove XL little loose on the size.

Am surly gonna be happy with the Large

I absolutely love their 18oz vintage…. probably my favorite denim from IH. I need to sell a bit of IH....need to get one of these.
