@Matt said in Random conversations:

Corporations touch everything on the planet. Thinking that governments are in “control” is naive. We’re beholden to them and going off grid just isn’t a feasible option for most. As @kasi will most assuredly tell you… it’s all about the Benjamin's.

Nah it not. No value with the Benjamin.
It pounds here stronger than dollars.

[SKT]

@Alex that sucks. Guessing there’s really nothing that can be done. I guess bright side is it means consumer demand is strong for your products.

[Kasi]

That’s something will never stop. Selling outsize Japan.

Even when the rules apply

[Alex]

@SKT exactly, what you gonna do

[Brian]

You can’t stop someone going into a brick and mortar shop buying something and then selling it be it online or face to face, the grey market as they call it is huge in some industries.

I have a load of thoughts about the whole online vs instore vs online only vs regional
But it’s late here and it’s a Saturday night

This is a bit of a Friday afternoon post and definitely random. LinkedIn is not known for being a barrel of laughs but my feed alerted me to UK trade mark no UK00004444579 (see below). The comments were exceptional (but I’m sure you can do better). Over to you …

[Giles]

It was me. That is my birthday:

Random question for @motojobobo : Just read on the news that Bolivia is affected extremely bad by El Niño this year and the government is declaring a state of emergency. How bad is it in your area?

[motojobobo]

Hey @tody! Thanks for asking.
Not bad really…I suspect the announcement was motivated largely for political reasons. Not yet seeing extraordinary El Niño impacts this year.
But let’s see further down. I have many friends and family strongly involved with agro and livestock activity and no reports of unusually adverse situations yet,

[goosehd]

@motojobobo Does the El Niño weather pattern typically bring more rains to your area or severe drought?
