IHSB-BIGBUCK-BLK - Black Deerskin Western Shirt - The Big Buck

@goosehd I guess with the imperfections, I was more thinking of scarring imperfections in the hide....the actual hole threw me. Like I said, Im torn (pardon the pun!). I love the shirt, just wanted to reach out to the community and get your thoughts and if anyone else had a shirt with a similar defect and how it faired over time. Thats why this forum exists, right? I greatly appreciate your input and will will keep you updated!

@Animal-Chin You will find this video very helpful in understanding the tanning process:

@Animal-Chin
I would have it sent to Simmons Bilt for repairs. I’ve had them do repairs through IH, and it’s pretty quick and they do a good job in fixing any issues.
I put scarring and holes in two separate categories, I wouldn’t want holes on any garment. -
@concretor Thats what I thought as well, but honestly wasn't sure what the cut off for "small imperfections" was. Like I said, Iron Heart has been great with their response, and I think offering a full refund is top notch. Im just curious what Simmons Bilt will say in response. It's strange that he has reached out twice and no reply either way. You figure if a company like Iron Heart reaches out with a concern, they would be all over it.
We shall see. @goosehd Interesting video! -
@Animal-Chin as an average big buck enjoyer I think if you have second thoughts about the shirt, don't keep it or at least let SB fix it. Everyone has their own level of willingness to accept imperfections, but I just went and checked my shirt again and besides some slight irregularities and scars the hides are pretty uniform. Maybe I am just lucky but I would not like a full hole.
Was able to wear the BB for a short walk with Frida
this morning.

@FlavourFade Looks great! I'd love it if SB would offer to fix it....I'm just waiting to hear if they will. James f/IH has reached out to them twice with no response yet. Thats what I find strange....I don't want to return the shirt. I just want to see if this hole I something that can be addressed.

They are a small family business who are run off their legs making stuff. It's a pain, but that is what it is....

Just an update. Josh from IH got word from Simmons Bilt that they would do the repair on the hole. Im super happy that this worked out because it's really such a great shirt otherwise!
-

Thrilled I got one. How do you guys store yours? Are hangers fine?
-
@sloppy-taco yes, a sturdy wooden hanger is just fine. shirt looks dope!
-
I'm gonna buck the trend and say folded. The hanger I used made the shoulders droop at the sides for me. Wearing it a few days fixed it but I ended up with a really high collar/neck for the first day.
Hanger was one of those suit hangers that has full support for the shoulders too. Maybe I needed an even bigger hanger, but I don't have one
-
@sloppy-taco I fold mine, no issues.
-
Thanks. Folded is better for me anyway. My wife has overloaded the hanger rods to the point that they are sagging and pulling the screws out of the wall.
I see the leather care says use a brush for light cleaning. What kind of brush are they referring to?
-
@sloppy-taco suede cleaning brush.
