Fatigues are my golf pants and shorts!!

@bryaneidins70 I do but I am currently getting back into playing after being a member of my local golf club 15 years ago in my early 20s. With 2 young kids I am playing once a week if that so any membership cost would be a bit of a waste for me. I think if I was able to play a few times per week, and enjoy the clubhouse etc it would still be expensive-ish for where it is, but you get what you pay for!
-
@AdamC Yes it can get expensive if you don't play a few times a week. My club do a points system membership for people who cant play often but still want the benefits of being a full
member...playing in comps, handicap etc.Weekend play uses more points than midweek play and you can top up when you get low.
I am looking forward to the post about a IHUK society day

-
@bryaneidins70 Fantastic shout! Watch this space haha.
That sounds like a great option re the points system membership
-
@bryaneidins70 the IH day will need to wait a bit, I've done some damage to my MCL off the tee yesterday evening - waiting to found out the extent of it tomorrow..
-
@Alex damn! Hopefully you cranked the drive that took out your MCL.

All day backyard chipping and drinking with the old man

Another good day for it.

Finally made it out to Bandon for the first time last week...absolutely amazing. It was pretty foggy for our first round the afternoon we arrived, but after that, the weather was entirely perfect. And if one foggy round was the only "bad" part about the weather...not sure I'll ever get so lucky with weather if I ever go back.
It definitely took some planning to make it out there, but it was totally worth it, and can highly recommend it to anyone who may be thinking about it!

We had the annual 4bbb (four ball better ball) at our club on Saturday. 36 holes in the heat.. it was tough slog and our course...along with pretty much everyone else is taking a bit hit with the weather. You wouldn't think we have fairway watering but it's not having any impact. Im not sure what it will be like when it does decide to rain but feel it could end up a mud bath.

-
@Brodie that looks phenomenal
-
@AdamJ @guiltyparty It truly was. And the crazy part is the pictures really don't do it justice.
Magical place.
-
@Brodie what an amazing time! And perfect weather. Was it worth having caddies? I hear it’s a must
-
@Brock Oh ya, you definitely need caddies for the five big courses. There are a decent amount of shots where you have no idea where to hit to. And when you can see, it really helps when they can give you a more specific aim point to help set up your next shot. And most of the greens aren't too terrible to read, but it was definitely helpful to have their guidance on putts, as well.
We had two guys that had played all the Bandon courses before and they were highly considering skipping the caddies this time around, but ended up using them. Granted they played the courses five years ago, but after using them again this time, both said they felt that the caddies were still necessary and would have been lost without them.
