IHSH-208-IND - Indigo Kersey Western Shirt
-
@cyclops I am between sizes too and have quite wide shoulders. I went for the smaller size. It feels a bit tight, but I can easily move and it doesn’t feel restrictive at all. I‘d say certain give/flex is definitely there.
-
@don_pipone ooo hmm interesting! Hmm yeah normally i am like 19.5inch shoulders. But they are at 19.2 for XL so its a toss up. And i dont wanna keep hassling the good folks at IH to measure so its a bit of a guessing game....and going up a size is good for shoulders but the chest becomes too wide with material behind the arms etc...
thanks anyway its good to get feedback from those that own it -
@cyclops I took the risk because I find this shirt must keep its slim silhouette and didn't want it to wide from chest to opening. The fabric is really soft and forgiving. I have other shirts with similar sizing but different fabric that I barely wear since they don't have any give at all.
-
@don_pipone yeah i totally know what you mean. Other brands i might take a risk cause its thinner crappier fabric perhaps. IH is so tough most of the time that i have to think more carefully. Ok very interesting and genuine thanks for the feedback! Will have lots to think about....
-
@cyclops I know the struggle. However, I am pretty sure the IH folks would be happy to help you and measure
You won't be the first and definitely not the last one -
I put copper snaps on mine about a year ago, was a good decision, actually had some random lady stop me at a store and ask where I got the shirt because her son would like it
-

Scored a second hand one for my better half last year. Nice fades. It's her favorite shirt to lounge in and makes a great maternity shirt for feeding because of the snap open/closure while being soft and relaxed. -
Could be a stupid question so forgive me but how does this fabric compare to the 13.5 ounce Dobby cloth ?
-
@Johnnyutah247 way softer, little bit like slubby flannel maybe but definetely not as rigid and less textured
-
@Johnnyutah247 it’s a totally different beast but both are amazing. The jersey is more comparable to corduroy but it’s definitely not corduroy. The Dobby is a bit rougher and slub adjacent
-
I have a ues Tricotine shirt. This looks somewhat similar. Since it’s softer than the Dobby shirt would it also be softer than the Tricotine?
Also - how many indigo shirts does a man need, asking for a friend!

All of them

Here’s mine with copper snaps… need to wear it more often, it’s a beautiful material/shirt.
-
@Jord looks amazing! This makes me want to get mine retrofitted

-
@Jord and @don_pipone how thick is the kersey? I know i can see the ounces, but does the hand feel thicker than an UHF? Or like a thick CPO? Anything you might compare this to?
Just saw Jord's brass upgrades, looks so good. But im now wondering whether i have too much brass with the several CPOs that i own

-
@cyclops It's a little "stretchy" is how I would describe it, I mostly reach for my UHF's, it's hard to describe and I'm sure I can't do it justice... but I would say it's a little less thick than a UHF but similar
-
@cyclops it's heavy. I'd wager to say it's heavier than a UHF. Unbrushed fabric of course. It drapes wonderfully. I have a gray jersey but it's to big so I don't wear it often. That's in the front of my mind ordering this one.
-
@cyclops they feel similar heavy. Let met put it this way, my wife started wearing my kerseys when it‘s cold. She used to steal my UHFs because they are like a „blanket“ and now prefers the kerseys.

-
@don_pipone haha awesome. Yeah i was thinking and measuring last night and was surprised to see ounce wise it sounded thicker than the UHF, so was thinking whether its more outer shirt vs shirt if you know what i mean. Looking forward to seeing it and handling it! Thanks guys

It is really hard to explain the feel of the Kersey. It’s warm, but very breathable. It’s dense but never feels restrictive. It has weight but I don’t think it feels as thick as UHF. It’s a beautiful shirt to wear. I ended up sizing down as I do like a more tailored fit. Regular size fitted well, but the size down looked almost individually tailored, so I went with that. I’ve worn it with a Thermal Waffle underneath and it’s lovely and warm. Wearing it today, open with a t shirt it’s comfortable in much warmer weather. I don’t know what witchcraft is going involved in creating this fabric, but I love it.
