@Go-For-Chill lol i been seeing some funny names for those. "the dog", "the hedgehog"... i keep wondering if/when we'll end up with insanely complex aero like the 18' Renault. It seems like its heading that way.

I truly thought that Hamilton was done last year and had lost the mental drive to continue…happy to say I was very wrong and great to see him 2nd place in the standings.

absolutely devastated for Leclerc. Max too. Psyched for Hadjar and the VCARBs. I cant believe the number of DNF's and penalties in that race, not to mention a disintegrating track. George though, man, this guy. I get the mis-served penalty and the frustration of that additional time, but backing up the pack at the hairpin on restart, wtf. Albeit, indirectly, he caused Sainz's DNF and Hulkenberg penalty. That was a head-scratcher for sure. He must have been ordered to block for Kimi against his will. This seems like it'd fall under "driving excessively slowly, erratically, or potentially dangerously" that pace would've put him way off his delta and it did result in multiple contacts, not to mention his intention was clear based on the gap to the car ahead was massively extended. Anywho, in the end i think he's making his own luck this season, and Kimi deserves every bit of success he's had, even if he has had a few lucky breaks.

That was just a catastrophic race. Glad they got the restart at least but brutal viewing.

I laughed out loud when in the post crash interview he was being told that the reason he came off was because the front left tyre had picked up crap from the disintegrating road surface, contributing to (causing) the crash, he argued that in fact it was because the car was so shitty. Stupid arsehole cant even recognise that he has a get out of jail free being thrown at him, because he is in "I'll auto blame the car mode"....

Charles kind of did the same thing about the brakes over the debris his tire clearly picked up but I believe there is much more likely actually a brake problem in his case.

Saw an analysis that Leclerc was hoping that the battery management system would kick in and slow down the car more than it did. His mistake was not realizing the battery was already fully charged coming off of the restart and that the recovery system would not kick in.

                                  Just one person's thoughts though.

@goosehd I think this is something thats been understated all season. I've seen several drivers from all different teams complain about things that would present as 'engine braking' that seems like it'd pretty clearly be the recovery systems transferring unpredictable forces to the contact patch. there have been countless 'errors' made as a result of the hybrid system doing non-intuitive things. I really think its by far the worst thing going on with F1 right now, is the emphasis on hybrid systems....

edit to add the launch sequence issues. with finding the perfect charge window on the formation lap or you botch the launch.
