How is the 9oz compared to the UHF? Are they wearable in the summer season?
Summer nights for sure.

Great shirt and my first work shirt. Must say the fit is as good as it gets for me. 99.9% spot on. Not keen on the buttons though as someone else mentioned. Feel cheap compared to Freenotes. Definitely not a summer shirt unless you live in Ireland but a great spring, fall and winter one!

@Gavin666 agree on all points, great fit and cut. Part of why I gravitate toward heritage Japanese brands is the fit. For me being tall and slim, just about every American brand is not compatible (tbd on Freenote shirting). There are many other heritage brands with far worse buttoning, but I do think for the price, a more “premium” button may be warranted. The western snaps are very nice, I’m not sure if they are true mother of pearl but that would be cool if they could do it. Freenote does just hit it out of the park on many points but every brand has their quirks. Freenote doesn’t do hidden rivets for example, to me that’s a bummer

Here for a fit check. Sizing was smaller than the chart on every metric. Bought from an IH USA retailer not IHUK fwiw. XXL

-
@CosmoSix5 I think it looks good right now but once you wash it, it’s gonna be too small. I know you’re a tall guy and the sleeves might be a problem
-
don’t wash that beauty it will be toast

Why would it be toast?
-
it will shrink a tad

I’m on the fence about washing my XL. I’m usually an L, but per the measurements, XL seemed like the way to go. I think a nice warm soak and a warm tumble could get me to my desired fit. I guess you meant it would be too small. I read it as ruined

-
Yeah I'm forgetting this isn't a UHF so the shrinkage wont be as dramatic, I'd give it a cold wash if I was worried...
-
Also an excellent fit, love this one

-
Iron Shop is going to exchange it for me. With orange not sax sadly. A shirt I'll wear it still the best option. And the orange was always on my radar.
-
@CosmoSix5 This is the first work shirt I’ve ever owned, so take what I say with a grain of salt …
I normally take XXL in IH western shirts and by the measurements it would have been perfect. I ended up sizing up to a XXXL, and I’m sure glad I did. The sleeves are just the right length for me, and I don’t think I sacrificed anything in the way of the fit in others areas.
I had to return the 439 western (black) as the sleeves came up sort on that one too. Go figure

-
Never had any flannels shrink on 30’c.

@Choko how much do you think the waist / opening shrinks on these with a warm wash / warm tumble?
I have an XL that I’m hesitant to return as L are sold out everywhere. It’s not massive on me, but I’d love for the body of the shirt to shrink a bit. -
@CosmoSix5 Why are you returning it? The fit looks brilliant to me. Doesn't look tight or small anywhere at all to me. Personally I wouldn't be returning anything because I was worried it might shrink a little.
I doubt it would shrink much at all, if anything. If you follow the instructions, and it'd be negligible. And certainly from the photo it looks like you'd hardly notice the difference.
Just my opinion....
