If you are interested in Japan, come to London. 🤷♂

The Samurai exhibition at the British Museum is excellent. It has great artwork and has something for anime and manga fans.

It finishes on the 4 May.

If you're hungry - grab a feed at Okan after (bookings recommended - it is popular for a reason). I understand their Okonomiyaki is pretty legit Hiroshima style.

@Bridger good to hear the positive review. I’m going on 4 May (with the Mad Red).

If anyone is contemplating going, remaining tickets are very limited, so don’t hang about.

Nice one @ARNC - a good outing for big red.

Check out the Samurai exhibition catalogue book in the gift shop. I didn't get one (kind of regretting it), one the value seems remarkable in this day and age.

@louisbosco, this has more relavance to the exhibition than you realise. @ARNC can report back on the fourth.

@louisbosco haha, I hadn’t thought of that but highly appropriate.

From the BM exhibition highlights page:

George Lucas, director of the motion picture Star Wars: A New Hope (1977), drew inspiration for the shape of Darth Vader's helmet from samurai armour – particularly visible in the flared lower section resembling the shikoro (neck-guard). The visor was added to explain how the character could breathe in space. Lucas based the plot of A New Hope loosely on the samurai film Hidden Fortress (1958) by Kurosawa Akira (1910–98).
